Hanging a village is not the name of a village, but an action. In recent years, large-scale rural migration in western China has come to the desert, Gobi and all places, but it contains an infinitely rich future.

Generally speaking, a family with one or two laborers goes out to open up wasteland in other places and builds a simple and temporary home on the spot, so that one family lives in two places and one Zhuangzi hangs in two places, so it is called "Diaozhuang". Calling the overall cross-regional relocation of the population in poverty-stricken areas "hanging village immigrants" means directly "hanging" the village.

Diaozhuang migration is an ecological migration model formed in Ningxia after years of practice. Its characteristic is to transfer the poor population from an ecologically fragile area to another area with wasteland resources in batches, rebuild new homes and build new communities, and achieve poverty alleviation and sustainable development.

The poverty alleviation in the southern mountainous areas of Ningxia, which began in 1950s, shows that the natural conditions in some areas of Xihaigu are extremely poor, the energy needed for development and construction is in short supply, the traffic is backward, and the poverty situation cannot be changed on the spot. Moreover, the population density in southern mountainous areas is several times or even more than ten times the critical index, and some areas reach 220 people/square kilometer. The population overload has reached the point where a part of the population must be moved out.

After investigation and evaluation in Sichuan, it is found that there are more than 4 million mu of wasteland resources and more than 2.6 million mu of cultivated land on the edge of the Yellow River diversion irrigation area. Sichuan has been an immigrant development zone since ancient times, and it has a tradition of hanging villages in mountainous areas, so it has launched a 20-year poverty alleviation immigration project.

Lu Hua Town and Xingjing Town are located in the west of Yinchuan City, the capital of Ningxia, which was a Gobi Desert 20 years ago. 1990, Hangzhuang started here, with only 4,000 people at first, and by 2004, it had exceeded 20,000. In 2004, the per capita net income of migrants from Diaozhuang in Lu Hua Town was 13 14 yuan, which was the highest among all migrants from Diaozhuang in Ningxia.

With the support of Fujian's aid funds, the foundation stone of Ningmin Village, the "Diaozhuang", was officially laid, and the first batch of immigrants moved out of Xihaigu area and came to this more promising "Diaozhuang".

Like all "Diaozhuang", the infrastructure of Ningmin Village was still under construction at the beginning of the foundation stone laying. With the help of the government, the immigrants started from scratch on the Chongfan Plain in Helan Mountain. After years of development, the former Ningmin Village has gradually developed into a town with more than 60,000 permanent residents.

Suining Town, Yongning County, Yinchuan City, Ningxia, made full use of eastern resources in poverty alleviation and development, and promoted local farmers to get rid of poverty quickly with industrial development, creating a miracle of "dry beach" becoming "Jin Tan".
