Seo Hyo-won was born in South Korea and is an athlete of the Korean women's table tennis team.

In 2008, Xu Xiaoyuan participated in the 21st Asian Cup Table Tennis Championships and won fourth place in the women's singles. Seo Hyo-won won the 2011 Korean National Championships Women's Table Tennis Singles Championship, and the 2013 ITTF Professional Tour Korean and Polish Championships. In March 2019, he was selected into the Korean entry list for the 2019 World Table Tennis Championships in Budapest.

In August 2019, he was selected for the Korean table tennis team to compete in the 2019 Asian Championships. In October 2019, he was selected into the Korean team roster for the 2019 ITTF Team World Cup. In November 2021, he was selected for the South Korean team to participate in the 2021 World Table Tennis Championships in Houston. On September 25, 2023, she won the third place in the women's table tennis team at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou with the South Korean team.
