Shanghai graduates’ household registration issues
Applying for Shanghai household registration is based on a scoring system, that is, standard points. Points are scored according to the scoring standards. If you meet the standard score requirements, you are qualified to apply for Shanghai household registration. Therefore, the scoring standards have increasingly become one of the objects we are most concerned about. one. Regarding my views on this grading standard, I will read about the changes and experiences from my own perspective. I hope it will be helpful to the fresh graduates in 2008.
First we start with the graduate factor scores of the scoring standards.
The elements of graduates are divided into the first item "basic academic qualifications". Comparing the scoring standards for entering Shanghai in 2006 and 2007, we can see that the biggest change in 2007 was the cancellation of the junior college program. As a result, junior college students lost 5 academic points, which means that ordinary junior college students will definitely not be able to apply. Household registration. The second change is the academic score gap between undergraduates, masters and doctoral students. It should be said that this is a good phenomenon. Basically, the era of "academic qualifications only" is slowly passing. In 2006, the academic score gap between doctoral masters and undergraduate students was 6 points and 4 points. In 2007, the gap was 3 points and 3 points respectively. The biggest change is that the gap between doctoral and master's students has changed from 6 points to 3 points. In other words, the gap between undergraduates, master's students and doctoral students has been strengthened. In terms of competitiveness, the era of "certainly getting a doctorate" is about to pass. In fact, this is indeed the case. We can find from various channels such as Jiaotong University Water Source and Sun Moon Guanghua that many PhDs have not settled in Shanghai this year. There are also many PhDs from Tsinghua University and Peking University who have not settled in Shanghai. In the past, these phenomena were almost impossible to happen, but now they have become Unexpected reality. One thing is very important. Some students have very good academic performance and have been awarded a lot of honors, but these are all based on their highest academic qualifications. For example, some students have good grades as undergraduates and can enter Shanghai according to the standards of that year, but after entering graduate school, they are generally , coupled with the increase in scoring standards, it is possible to be rejected by No. 900 Yan'an West Road because of this. This is an indisputable reality.
Second, graduation school points. The changes between 2006 and 2007 are not very big, mainly due to some changes in textual expressions. For example, in 2006 it was expressed as "Shanghai universities included in the '211 Project'" and "scientific research institutions", while in 2007 it was expressed as "in Shanghai" "211 Project" universities and "graduate training units".
Third, academic performance level. The standards in 2006 and 2007 remained basically unchanged. This depends on you. There are two channels. The first is that you study hard, work hard to get high scores, and strive to rank high. The second is that you have a good relationship with the teachers in the Academic Affairs Office or whether they are open-minded and considerate of your classmates. Stop talking nonsense, it all depends on your performance on and off stage. Don’t take your grades seriously, the era of 60 points is about to pass, at least in Shanghai, so students who are planning to apply for household registration in Shanghai, please take note.
Fourth, foreign language proficiency. There is basically no change between 2006 and 2007. The evil English test is going to harm most of our classmates again, but there is no way, just bear with it. If you want to enter Shanghai, you have to take care of it. If you don't enter Shanghai, it depends on your mood. Of course, as society develops and the global economy becomes more integrated, there is no harm in improving English proficiency and taking CET-4 or CET-6. I believe that many outstanding students will not stay at CET-4 or CET-6.
Fifth, computer level. The scores and options remained basically unchanged between 2006 and 2007, and were still expressed in words. For example, in 2007, the modifier "provincial level two" was added before the expression "intermediate level". In terms of scores, under normal circumstances, a master's degree or above will basically get a full score of 7 points. If you are an undergraduate, please don't take care of your computer level. To be safe, take the Level 2 exam. I believe everyone's computer skills are very good now. High, taking the Level 2 exam shouldn’t be a problem. I basically passed Level 2 and Level 3 of Computer Science during my undergraduate studies. These things will be useful to you at critical moments.
Sixth, reward options. The text description has basically not changed much, and the points for "honorary titles" have not changed much. What has changed is the competition points for participating in the competition later. From the comparison between 2006 and 2007, we can find that the first prize was increased in 2007. , the gap between the second prize and the third prize. Of course, these are not very important. The key is that the basic score of the third prize has changed from 3 points in 2006 to 1 point in 2007. This 2-point gap is still very big. Therefore, I would like to advise some students who participated in the competition and won awards, but the awards were not very high, please do not sit back and relax. The gap between you and ordinary students is still very small. If you are not careful, it will still be easy.
Seventh, scientific research innovation and independent entrepreneurship. The scoring standards in 2006 and 2007 changed very little regarding these two items, and the scoring items and the points given for each item remained basically unchanged. This score is very obvious, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. Many of our MBA students can consider starting their own businesses, and of course many other students can also consider it, because these scores are still quite high and can appropriately make up for your shortcomings in other majors and your own performance gaps. I remember someone on the Guanghua BBS said that they had 5 classmates in one laboratory, and only one self-employed person got the qualification to enter Shanghai. Therefore, when your major is not very popular or is taken seriously by No. 900 Yan'an West Road, entrepreneurship is an important weight for your possibility of entering Shanghai. As for how to start a business, there are many ways. There are many organizations registering companies in society now. It depends on how you get started.
Eighth, this is also the most obvious change in 2007, that is, the 0 to 20 points bonus policy for civil servants, teachers, medical personnel and those involved in major projects has been cancelled. Note that in previous years, the era when passing the civil service examination was a sure way to enter Shanghai is about to pass. With the introduction of the policy in 2007, the hope of many of our students has been completely wiped out. Of course, these are still closely related to the company. For example, some companies are relatively powerful, and it is also a way for the company to help you obtain a household registration.
Ninth, unit element points. This item has basically not changed much between 2006 and 2007. Generally speaking, you should have no problem finding a local unit with high reputation in Shanghai.
Tenth, regional orientation points, this is also a big change in 2007 compared with 2006. In 2007, the regional orientation points were cancelled, so I advise students not to place extra points in hopes of finding a suburban unit now.
Eleventh, professional and subject-oriented points, this is also the biggest change in 2007 compared with 2006. Orientation majors change every year. On this point, I saw on Shuiyuan that many students studied majors that were changed in 2006 but not in 2007. I also have classmates who are majoring in humanities. This year, their majors have been removed from the recommended major column. The subject-oriented points, expressed in 2007, are "on the basis of majors oriented in key areas of economic and social development in this city (see Appendix 3), graduate graduates from higher education institutions listed in the Ministry of Education and Shanghai's key disciplines will be recruited." So if there are some If students find that their major is not listed as a key subject by the Ministry of Education or Shanghai, then they should work harder. This alone may cause a score difference of 6 points.
This is my rough comparison of the changes in 2006 and 2007. The so-called plan is not as fast as the change. There are great changes every year, and our response strategies should also have key changes every year. The specific scoring standards can be found in this version. For details, please refer to this version of the scoring standards.
My additions and modifications to the above:
Shanghai’s household registration policy is getting stricter every year.
Without considering the award:
Before 2006, most undergraduate students were admitted.
In 2006, non-graduate students were admitted on the original basis. Master's degrees from 985 University
This year, master's degrees from non-national key disciplines from 985 University are excluded on the original basis.
So most non-local master's degrees have not obtained hukou this year.
It can be seen that the sieve becomes finer.
It doesn’t matter whether you say the household registration system is evil or how unfair it is to blame yourself.
But this is a fait accompli. We should realize that the household registration system in Beijing and Shanghai will not undergo major changes. It cannot be compared with foreign countries. Think about the 1.3 billion people in China and how many college graduates go here every year. It is not difficult to draw the above conclusion from two places.
Relatively speaking, compared with Beijing (relying on connections), Shanghai’s evaluation system for foreign skilled immigrants can be regarded as fair among unfairness.
And I think there is some progress this year:
1. The grade difference between PhD, master's and undergraduate students has been narrowed (by three points).
2. The grade difference (three points) between ordinary colleges and universities has been reduced by 985 and 211 (Tongji’s post did not mention this).
3. Added national key subject factor points.
The reason is that undergraduates complaining about themselves is not necessarily worse than masters, and masters complaining about themselves is not necessarily worse than doctors. So No. 900 lowered the level difference. There are always 211 schools that say they are not necessarily worse than 985 schools, so they lower the school grade. It turns out that schools such as Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications have jointly submitted a letter to the Shanghai Municipal Government:
Cryingly complaining about all kinds of unfair treatment, saying that although the school is not a 985 school, it is among the best in the country in certain subjects. As a result, the opinions were adopted, but the changes were not based on school category scores. But very smartly. . . . . Didn't you say that you are good at communications and electronics (national key subjects)? I will give you a chance to add points in that field. For all graduate students in key subjects like you, I will add 3 points to you to protect your rights. Everything else remains as usual. You said this trick is absolutely impossible, what else can these schools say?
Another point is that the standard scores in Shanghai are different from those in other places, about 2 points less. This should be understandable. We in Beijing are also taken care of by the Beijing Municipal Government. It is also very difficult for foreign students to enter Beijing. This is normal and legitimate to safeguard local rights and interests, and should not rise to the level of discrimination from other places.
