Are Lhasa and Tibet the same place?

Lhasa is a prefecture-level city and capital city under the jurisdiction of Xizang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China (PRC). It is located in south-central Tibet and is also the political and cultural center of this autonomous region. As the capital of Tibet, Lhasa is actually a part of Tibet, so it can be said that Lhasa and Tibet are the same place.

Lhasa is a famous historical and cultural city in China, with museums and universities such as Tibet Museum, Tibet University and Tibet Tibetan Medical University, as well as important cultural attractions such as Potala Palace and Barkhor Street. On the outskirts of Lhasa, there are natural landscapes such as Namco, the second largest lake in Tibet.
