The ancient Xiao State, now called Xiao County, is the northernmost county in Anhui Province, with a population of 1.1 million, 30 kilometers west of Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Xiao County is dominated by Han people, with 24 ethnic minorities including Hui, Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur, Miao, Yi, Buyi and Zhuang. Area is 1861 square kilometers.
