Introduction to Qiuzhuang Reservoir Project

Qiuzhuang Reservoir is located at the mouth of the upstream Huanxiang River, 20 kilometers north of Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. It is a large reservoir on the Huanxiang River, a tributary of Jiyun River, with a controlled drainage area of ??525 square kilometers and a total storage capacity of 204 million cubic meters, homogeneous earth dam, concrete cutoff wall, main dam length 926m, maximum dam height 28m, dam crest elevation 77.0m, cutoff wall crest elevation 73.4m, dam crest length 926m meters. The reservoir flood control standard is designed for 100 years and calibrated for 5,000 years. The total maximum discharge volume of the spillway and water discharge tunnel is 4,600 cubic meters per second. It serves as a transit regulation hub in diverting water from Luan River to Tang Dynasty across the river basin. The reservoir was built when it was being built. Due to poor anti-seepage treatment at the dam foundation, leakage from the dam foundation was very serious, endangering the dam and its safe operation. For reservoir reinforcement, a vertical anti-seepage wall was built from the top of the dam downwards and embedded in the rock of the dam foundation. The anti-seepage effect is very significant.
