The English name of IELTS is IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
IELTS International English Proficiency Test is jointly organized by the Local Examinations Committee of Cambridge University, IDP Education of Australia and British Council. 1990 was promoted in China in April. There are 2 10 test sites in the world, covering 105 cities. It is designed for students preparing to enter universities and colleges with English as the main teaching language or immigrants from English-speaking countries (referring to Commonwealth countries) to test their English level.
Many institutions in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Singapore, the United States (200 institutions) and many countries have adopted and recognized IELTS scores. From July 1, all students studying in Australia will submit IELTS without using TOEFL scores. Immigration bureaus in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries regard test scores as the only criterion to measure the English language ability of skilled immigrants and other immigrants. Schools and continuing education programs in the above-mentioned countries, as well as colleges and universities in many countries, accept examination results and set different standards for the passing of examination results.
The IELTS test includes two categories.
At present, general training is more suitable for immigrants;
At present, academics are more suitable for studying abroad. No matter what kind of exam, no matter what purpose you use this score for, all similar (G or A) exams use the same paper at the same time. The exam doesn't involve your professional knowledge, only your English level. Because this exam has oral items, it will be more credible than TOEFL.
Generally speaking, candidates with intermediate English foundation can take this exam after 2-3 months by studying IELTS reference books or pre-test training courses. For candidates in China, the vocabulary requirement of IELTS test is not high, and it is mainly based on life. However, the answering skills and traditional English questions are completely different from TOEFL and domestic English tests (CET-4 and CET-6), so it is very important to master the questions and answer them quickly.

Ielts test structure
1. Examination time: The whole examination time is 2 hours and 55 minutes (including listening 10 minutes).
2. Listening part (same as general training and academic papers)
Usually, candidates will hear four sounds (monologues and dialogues between two or more people). * * * Answer questions 38-42, only listen (once) to the pronunciation, and don't repeat (listen and answer) this part. So when students answer, don't wait until the end of the speech before answering (don't turn around and answer). Candidates can write their answers on the test paper first, and then use the extra 10 minutes after the 30-minute dialogue, and then write them on the answer sheet.
The first two paragraphs of the four pronunciations are mainly about simulating general life, social state and interpersonal relationship, while the last two paragraphs are mainly about education, academics and world topics, with answers (narratives). However, due to its practicality and common sense, candidates do not have to delve into dead ends.
During the conversation, record the key answers you heard while listening, and write them on the questionnaire (not the answer sheet) to avoid forgetting or omitting the answers.
3. Reading part (general training and academic papers are different)
Both academic and general training exams are based on the "three paragraphs" of the article, about 1500-3000 words, with various contents, and sometimes even appear in the form of charts and tables. There are many ways for students to answer questions, about 38-42 questions.
The theme of the reading part is not to examine students' academic professionalism or consciousness, so students should never be nervous because they are unfamiliar with the theme.
The similarity between Class A and Class G is that in addition to life, Class A also increases the academic discussion and understanding of candidates, while Class G focuses on topics such as socialization, language and job training.
4. Writing part (the Unit 1 of general research and academic papers is different, but the Unit 2 is the same).
Class A writing part, 1 hour, is divided into two major units (task1&; Task 2);
(Task 1) Usually, the basic forms of exam questions are pictures, table coordinates and graphics. According to the given information, candidates write articles with more than 150 words, describe the theme, organize discussions on the theme, and put forward relatively supportive arguments.
G (Task 1) Candidates can write a letter for the simulated situation or question given in the examination questions.
(Task 2) Class A is very similar to Class G. Candidates express their opinions in 250 words on the topic of the examination questions. Candidates are usually required to use one of several methods as a framework to solve problems, express their views, and support or demonstrate the information given in the examination questions.
5. The oral part (the papers of general training and academic study are consistent) will be updated from July 1 day, 2006.
10- 15 minutes one-on-one conversation (candidates and examiners). The topic of dialogue is colloquial, lively and relaxed, but there are certain procedures. The dialogue is roughly divided into four small segments (no obvious distinction, no interruption in the middle);
The first paragraph: greet each other (about 1-2 minutes);
The examiner will encourage (guide) candidates to talk about some general topics (life and rest, cultural habits, personal interests, etc.). (about 3-4 minutes), candidates should speak bravely.
The third paragraph: The examiner draws out a reminder card with a simulated event, environment or situation written on it, and the candidates ask various questions to the examiner (about 3-4 minutes). The questions asked by candidates must be related to the theme on the card and can be freely played;
Paragraph 4: Examiners mainly understand the candidates' personal concerns (academic plans) or (future prospects). Class A and G candidates are different because of the different purposes of IELTS test. (About 3-4 minutes) (This answer is diverse and in-depth, and candidates can prepare in advance).
