Is there racial discrimination in Canada?
For nearly a year, I really didn't feel anything around me that could be called racial discrimination. Think about it, domestic netizens. One day, when you were on the subway in Beijing, you were crowded with a dirty, smelly, vomiting and noisy person. Do you hate him very much? Do you care if he is a real Beijinger? Do you care if his accent is standard enough? What if you meet a Hong Kong businessman in five hotels and his Mandarin is terrible? What about Indian businessmen who can't even speak Chinese? Therefore, because the discrimination caused by skin color and language is a primitive form of discrimination, the most common discrimination in this world is that caused by wealth, education and accomplishment. This kind of discrimination (if it is really discrimination) is normal in a sense, "Birds of a feather flock together, and people are divided into groups". Netizens who read my jar article, how many people in your circle of friends sell vegetables and repair shoes? No, absolutely not. Something like that. Therefore, each of us has the idea of discriminating against others.
Country is a constantly changing geographical concept. More than two thousand years ago, I was Qi, you were Lu, and we were killing each other!
Canada is a typical young immigrant country, and so is the United States, but it is so old that some people forget that they once drifted here in a boat. The governor of Canada is Chinese, government officials are Chinese, and there are also Chinese members of the federal/provincial/city council. These members have great rights. Some people say that the population is too small, and the population ratio of China is still low. If too many China people become party member, it is not democracy.
In my company, there are many people in China, and you can see a Chinese face every 4-5 meters in the corridor, which is rare (except Japanese and Koreans, it is rare). Many managers are from China and India, and my manager is from Croatia.
The team leader is Romanian, and there is also a Taiwan Province province, a China (me) and a Malaysian Chinese in the team. There are only two white people of western European descent, and only two people speak pure English. It doesn't matter, as long as everyone can understand each other. We also told jokes to each other, and I told a lot. Everyone just has a different division of labor. Foreigners can express, talk and raise funds for the project. China's skills are really not bragging. It's not a problem to cheat me into supporting him three or four times.
This is one of the things around me in Canada. As for the situation in the United States, I have never worked and lived there for a long time and have no right to speak. Friends who immigrated from America said some good things and some bad things. When the forest is big, there will naturally be all kinds of birds.
There are too many people from China who immigrated to Canada from Europe, such as Germany-Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands and even Japan, but they all say that their countries of origin are xenophobic and not as good as Canada. But if you can't find a job, you will never be as good as China.
Canada is not a paradise, but it is closer to heaven than many other places in the world. It was founded by others before, but now I join in and build it better. I didn't get a penny of relief from the government. I used my labor income to buy goods. I have skills. My labor creates wealth for society. My income is higher than the local average. I pay more taxes to the government.
The service attitude of government workers here, because I stand in front of them, they know that the person who pays them is coming.
Indeed, if you want to get rich, live a much higher life than the people around you, and be satisfied with people's envious eyes, China is more suitable for you. The relative quality of your life is quite high, but the absolute quality is not necessarily. Do we live for others to see, or for ourselves and our families?
