The first transit visa (Visto de Tr? nsito)

Transit visas are issued to those who transit through Brazil. The transit visa is valid for 10 days and cannot be extended.

The second tourist visa (Visto de Turista)

For those who travel to Brazil. Tourist visa holders are not allowed to emigrate or engage in paid activities in Brazil. A tourist visa can be used for multiple entry, but the total stay time shall not exceed 90 days. The stay period of tourist visas can be extended by 90 days, but the cumulative stay days in 12 months shall not exceed 180 days. According to the principle of reciprocity, tourist visas can be valid for up to 5 years.

Category III Temporary Visa (Visto Temporário)

Category IV: Student visa, the maximum stay time 1 year. You can apply for multiple extensions with the school certificate until the end of your studies.

Category V: Scientific and technical personnel, teachers and various professional and technical personnel employed by the government through labor contracts must have labor contracts and be approved by the Ministry of Labor and Employment. This is what is commonly called a work visa. This visa can stay for up to 2 years, and can be extended for 2 years (only once) 30 days before its expiration. Those who meet the requirements can apply for a residence visa to the Aliens Bureau of the Ministry of Justice before the expiration of 30 days.

If a work visa holder wants to change his work unit, he must obtain the consent of the original employer and apply to the Ministry of Justice, which will examine and approve after listening to the opinions of the Ministry of Labor and Employment. If you violate the above regulations, your work visa will be revoked and you will be required to leave the country within a time limit.

Category VI: Journalists or other journalists from foreign newspapers, magazines, radio stations, television stations and other news organizations may apply for an extension of stay for four years before the expiration of the 30-day period. Such visa holders are not allowed to engage in paid services for Brazilian media.

Seventh: clergy of religious groups and other believers can stay for a maximum of 1 year, and can apply for an extension of their stay 1 year 30 days before the expiration (only once). You can apply for a residence visa to the Aliens Bureau of the Ministry of Justice 30 days before the expiration of your residence.

Visa extension or visa type change:

An application for extending the visa stay period or changing the visa type shall be made by the parties concerned in writing to the relevant departments within the valid visa stay period. According to Article 38 of Brazilian Decree 68 15/80, Brazil does not accept applications from illegal immigrants or illegal residents to extend their visa stay or change their visa types. Such people should leave Brazil first and apply for a Brazilian visa abroad.

The Aliens Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Justice has the right to examine and approve applications for extension of stay or conversion to permanent visas for 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 temporary visas.

Change of employer or occupation:
