Physical examination requirements for Maltese immigrants

1. Why are there health requirements?

Malta enjoys the highest health standards in the world. In order to maintain these standards, all visa applicants must meet the health requirements stipulated in the immigration law before obtaining a Malaysian visa.

2. Who needs a health check?

In view of the non-discriminatory immigration policy, the medical examination requirements apply to applicants from all countries. Unless there are special circumstances, if the applicant cannot meet the requirements of medical examination, the application must be rejected according to the restrictions of immigration law.

If the Immigration Department of Malta (DIAC) thinks that the applicant's health is related to the issuance of the visa, it can ask anyone who will go to Malta to have a general examination and/or a chest X-ray.

If the applicant is over 1 1 years old and plans to stay in Malta for 3 to 12 months, a chest X-ray examination is required. If the applicant plans to stay in Malta for more than (inclusive) 12 months, a general examination and chest X-ray examination are required.

3. Different visa types have different requirements for physical examination.

In addition, immigrant visas in Malta can be roughly divided into three categories: permanent residence visas, temporary residence visas and bridge visas. Different types of visas have different requirements for physical examination. All immigration applicants (that is, permanent residence visas) need a physical examination to meet the basic requirements of the immigration law. The applicant's immediate family members, including those dependent family members who do not intend to emigrate, must also undergo a medical examination.

Whether a temporary visa applicant needs a medical examination depends on his visa type and the length of time to apply for a visa.

For most people, preparing to live in Malaysia for more than two months 1 requires physical examination. If the visa application is less than 1 for two months, the immigration officer will decide whether a medical examination is needed according to the influence of the applicant's health on his work or others. If the applicant's work or study atmosphere is related to school, hospital, medical treatment, food processing, catering, hotel or pharmacy, a comprehensive physical examination is generally required regardless of the visa duration. For the bridge visa, there is no physical examination problem because it is generally not necessary to apply separately.

4. Special circumstances

All applicants aged 70 and above, regardless of the length of medical treatment, must have a general examination. If the visit lasts for more than 3 months, X-ray chest X-ray examination is needed.

If it is possible for an applicant to enter a hospital, a child care center, a nursing home or a drug laboratory in Malta, a general examination and/or a chest X-ray examination are required regardless of the length of the visit.

If the applicant plans to attend a study course lasting more than four weeks, or if the applicant is approved, the parents waiting in line must undergo general examination and/or chest X-ray examination. The applicant intends to stay in Malta for more than three months, and the applicant must undergo a general examination and X-ray chest X-ray.

5.3 Common diseases

The most common diseases that have great influence on immigration application are tuberculosis, hepatitis B and AIDS.

All applicants for permanent resident visas and most temporary visas, if they are over 16 years old, need to undergo X-ray examination to determine whether they have tuberculosis. If the X-ray shows tuberculosis (with calcified spots or calcified nodules), it is necessary to conduct in-depth examination to determine whether it is active and whether it has been properly treated. In this process, the general practice is to send the physical examination results back to Malta headquarters for collective understanding and inspection. There are three kinds of results:

(1) Those who are confirmed to be active or improperly treated by in-depth examination need comprehensive treatment;

(2) Those who have been diagnosed as inactive or have been properly handled will generally be released by the Immigration Bureau after the applicant signs a letter of guarantee for regular inspection. This process takes 1 month;

(3) Confirm that it has fully recovered. This process takes 1 month.

Because Chinese mainland is listed as a high incidence area of tuberculosis in Malaysia, all the physical examination reports of applicants with calcified spots or calcified nodules in X-ray findings will be sent to the Maltese headquarters for joint examination, so applicants need not worry.

For those who are diagnosed as carriers of hepatitis B, the Immigration Bureau will generally refuse to accept their applications, but refer to the practice of tuberculosis and release them after the applicants sign a letter of guarantee regularly.

Aids testing is generally carried out through blood tests, and blood tests are generally not carried out when studying abroad.

All applicants for permanent residents aged 16 or above must have blood tests to determine whether they are AIDS patients. /kloc-adopted children under the age of 0/6 or those with a history of blood transfusion should also have a physical examination.

6. Physical examination process

If it is necessary for the applicant to have a physical examination, the visa office will contact the applicant within 10 working days after receiving the application. For immigration applications, the visa office will contact the applicant in the process of hearing the application. Applicants should go to an approved hospital for a medical examination, and then the doctor will send the medical examination results directly to the visa office. If any health hazards are found during the inspection, the visa office must send the results to the Malta Health Assessment Service Center (HAS) for further advice. According to the legal requirements, the visa office must accept the opinions of Malta Health Assessment Service Center on whether the applicant meets the health requirements. Before issuing a visa, HAS can ask the applicant for further physical examination.

7. The influence of physical examination on visa application processing time.

The applicant is responsible for the necessary physical examination as soon as possible. If the visa office needs to send the medical examination results to HAS, it will take about 4 weeks to receive the opinions of HAS. The HAD may require the applicant to undergo further physical examination, which will further prolong the processing time of the application.

8.49 days response time

For the first medical examination, the medical examination results must be delivered to the visa office within 49 days after receiving the medical examination notice (from the date of signing the medical examination letter). Student visa application, this date is calculated from the date on the PAV letter.
