There are no restrictions on bringing U.S. dollars into Cambodia, but my country’s exit regulations prohibit you from taking more than 10,000 U.S. dollars out of the country.
If outbound personnel carry out foreign currency cash not exceeding the equivalent of 5,000 U.S. dollars, they do not need to apply for a "Portability Permit." If the amount of foreign currency cash carried by outbound personnel is more than 5,000 U.S. dollars equivalent to 1,000 U.S. dollars, they should apply for a "Carrying Permit" from a designated foreign exchange bank, and the customs will inspect and release it with the "Carrying Permit" stamped with the seal of the designated foreign exchange bank.
Cambodia is not allowed to carry large amounts of U.S. dollars out of the country (generally, you can carry less than 3,000 U.S. dollars). A visa to Cambodia is generally valid for three months. When entering Cambodia, the Cambodian Immigration Bureau will stamp an entry stamp with the period of stay on your passport. Please check it carefully to avoid being fined if your visa expires.
