The Present Situation of Henan Dialect

The meanings of "An" and "Ban" in Henan dialect are different from those expressed in other regions (except Henan). The "an" in Henan dialect only means the first-person plural "we", not the first-person singular "I"; The word "you" in Henan dialect only represents the plural "you" in the second person, not the singular "you" in the second person. But recently, TV or many people who imitate Henan dialect often misuse "I" and "you" to refer to "I" and "you", which is actually wrong.

The numeral "one" in Henan dialect is often misunderstood as "one". "Yi" and "Yi" have different meanings. The former means quantity, while the latter means order. In Henan dialect, the word "one" is still the word "one" (pronunciation: yí), and "one" is still the word "one" (Henan dialect conjunction: Yudong). The reason is that the original sound of "Ge" in Chinese is "Guo" (pronounced as "Guo", which is still pronounced in Cantonese, Hakka and most mandarin areas today), while the phenomenon of linking sounds in Henan dialect is serious (which is not difficult to find), so reading the word "One" together becomes today's "Yudong". The most obvious feature of the dialect in this area is that it retains the entering tone of middle ancient Chinese and a large number of "Ge tou characters". Generally speaking, there are five tones:

Zhongyuan Mandarin itself contains 15 small pieces, including Yanhe, Xinghan, Xuhuai, Ryan, Luo Song, Lu Nan, Luo Xiang, Fu Shang, Xinbang, Fenhe, Guanzhong, Qinlong, Longzhong and Nanjiang, among which there are Yanhe, Ryan and Nanjiang in Henan. For example, in the early days of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, Henan people migrated from Xichuan, Henan Province to Chaihu, Hubei Province. More than 30 years later, these immigrants still speak Henan dialect. If people are distinguished by language and cultural identity, they will undoubtedly become "Henan people" from Hubei.
