How long does it usually take to get a Japanese visa?

You can apply for a Japanese visa yourself or entrust an agent.

Self-handling time: You can apply for an appointment directly at the Japanese Embassy in China in official website. Dantai.htm EMB-Japan.go.jp/Consumer/visa, you can deliver the message yourself. If there is no problem in the review, the embassy will issue a Japanese visa within 5 working days.

Agency time: Due to the large amount of information required for Japanese visas and the influence of the consular district, it is safer to set aside 7- 1 1 working days for agency time.

Jurisdiction:

(1) Japanese Embassy in China (Beijing): All areas except the following areas.

(2) Consulate General in Shanghai: Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces.

(3) Consulate General in Guangzhou: Guangdong Province, Fujian Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hainan Province.

(4) Consulate General in Chongqing: Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces.

(5) Consulate General in Shenyang: Liaoning Province (except Dalian), Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province.

(6) Dalian office: Dalian.

(7) Consulate General in Qingdao: Shandong Province

Tips: You need to choose the corresponding consulate to send your passport according to the place where it was issued or your permanent residence. If you are a non-local household registration applicant, you need to bring the original temporary residence permit/residence permit together.
