Part I: About the main categories and basic requirements of Australian parent visas.

In March, 2003, the Australian Parliament passed an act, which adopted new parental visa provisions. These provisions allow parents who are willing to pay higher fees for future medical and welfare benefits to immigrate to Australia. As a result of this law, there are six types of visas suitable for parents who immigrate to Australia. These visas are divided into two categories: ordinary parent visas and self-funded parent visas. The self-funded parent visa requires the applicant to pay more fees to protect the future medical expenses.

If there is a visa quota, the applicant can pay a relatively low second-stage fee and get a temporary visa for two years on the premise of meeting other conditions of self-funded parent visa. Temporary visa holders must apply for permanent residence before the visa expires. If all other conditions are met, the applicant can get a visa after paying the second-stage visa fee.

The number of self-funded parents' visas per year is three times that of ordinary parents' immigrants, which is faster. Ordinary parents usually have to wait in line for more than ten years.

Generally speaking, the following are the requirements for all parents visa applicants:

1 Your child must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen to apply;

2 Your child must settle in Australia (generally more than two years) and can vouch for you;

If you want to pass the "family member test", you must have more than half of your children settled in Australia, or you have more children settled in Australia than any other country;

You must pass the health examination and the notarization of no criminal record;

You have to pay the total cost of two parent visas;

If you apply for permanent residence for your parents, you need to provide financial guarantor and pounds;

7 If you apply for "elderly" parents to immigrate, you must be elderly parents;

When the sponsor of the temporary self-funded parent visa holder dies, the applicant does not need to meet these requirements when applying for a permanent self-funded parent visa. Temporary self-funded parent visa holders do not need to take the "family member test" again when applying for a permanent self-funded parent visa before their visa expires.

The second visa fee and financial guarantee will only be paid when all other conditions are met.

Part II: Please pay special attention: Parents visa applicants may have other immigration options.

1 For parents who are still working, especially those under 45, if they have certain vocational skills and certificates, they can consider applying for employer-sponsored immigration.

If your livelihood depends entirely on your relatives in Australia, you may be able to apply for an old-age dependent visa. Relatives of such visa applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens, and must be unmarried (or widowed, divorced or formally divorced from their spouses), have been completely dependent on their relatives for some time, and have reached the age of old age.

Part III: When you apply for a permanent self-funded parent visa as a temporary self-funded parent visa holder.

You can only apply for a very limited number of visas if you have obtained a temporary self-funded parent visa since your last trip to Australia. This restriction will remain in effect as long as you stay in Australia, even if your temporary visa expires.

1 permanent self-funded parent visa of the corresponding category.

2 medical visa

3 asylum visa

As a temporary visa holder, you can apply for the following permanent visas.

1 Applicants for temporary visa for self-funded parents can only apply for self-funded parent visa.

Self-funded elderly parents visa holders can only apply for self-funded elderly parents visa.

If you apply for a corresponding permanent residence visa within the validity period of two years, you can usually get some benefits, such as

1 When applying for permanent residence, you can add one less application fee.

You don't need to do a family balance test.

Before you get a decision after submitting your application for a permanent residence visa, you can change your sponsor to anyone suitable.

If the guarantor of your temporary visa dies, and you have no other children who meet the guarantee conditions, then you can be considered as guaranteed.

Generally speaking, you don't need to do any other health checks.

If someone is considered to be attached to you when you apply for a temporary visa and obtained a temporary visa at the same time, they can still be included in your application for permanent residence even if they are no longer attached to you.

However, if you do not apply for permanent residence within the two-year visa period, these preferential conditions will no longer be available. You can still apply for permanent residence, but at this time you will be asked to complete the application procedure as if you had never held a temporary visa.

Part IV: Please pay special attention. If you have applied for a parent visa, you are now applying for another type of parent visa.

In order to make the parent visa you are applying for valid, you must cancel any pending parent visa. The first-stage visa application fee will not be refunded. However, if you applied for a self-funded parent visa before June 27, 2003, or a self-funded senior parent visa before July 1 2003, you don't need a first-stage visa when applying for a new visa.

According to the current queuing situation, it will take 12.5 years, and the paying parents in the queue need 6500 places. According to the current queuing situation, it will take 1- 1.5 years.

3. Priority of hearing

Please note that the Immigration Bureau has no formal regulations. According to our actual case summary, the restriction order of parents' immigration can be summarized as follows: elderly parents are more restricted than ordinary parents, and children who are citizens have priority over green cards. Of course, analogy has great priority.

4. Definition of elderly parents

Only one parent needs to meet the age requirement. The man is 65 years old and the woman is 62.5-65 years old according to the year of birth.

5. Application fee

20/kloc-the latest application fee in April/February, the first application fee is 1995 Australian dollars/case, and the second application fee is 400 15 Australian dollars/person. AOS bond, principal applicant 10000, spouse 4000. Please note that the second application fee is paid after the visa officer informs you. Don't listen to some unscrupulous intermediaries.

6. How much income can ensure that both parents immigrate at the same time?

At present, the income of most people in Australia is between 40 thousand and 50 thousand Australian dollars. According to the latest Newstart allowance and family welfare tax payment rate of Centrelink, if you are single and have no children, then the annual income of 39,000 Australian dollars can ensure that both parents immigrate at the same time, and you don't need to find someone else to provide supplementary guarantee.

Other considerations:

1. Before you apply for parents' immigration, please ask your parents and spouse for their opinions, whether your parents want to go to Australia and whether your spouse agrees to sponsor. It is not too late for couples to communicate with each other before applying.

2. If only one parent immigrates and the other parent's spouse immigrates, then according to the current regulations, the other parent needs to wait for five years. Ask about the actual health of the family and parents and decide whether to save the money.

3. Parents who immigrated to Australia in 10 only have their own medical insurance, and can enjoy the minimum living allowance after10 (the current standard is about 500 Australian dollars every two weeks). However, children can apply for parental tax offset, and the current standard is about 3000 Australian dollars a year.
