Extended data:
Austrian pathologist and immunologist Karl Landsteiner put forward the medical viewpoint that there are different blood types in 190 1.
ABO blood group system is mainly named according to different agglutinates on the surface of human red blood cells, that is, blood group antigens, including A, B and H.
Red blood cells of four blood types all contain a small amount of H antigen, among which red blood cells of type O have only a small amount of H antigen. H antigen is the structural basis for the formation of A and B antigens, but the antigenicity of substance H is very weak, so there is generally no anti-H antibody in serum. ABO blood group antigen is a kind of glycolipid, and its oligosaccharide part has the function of determining antigen specificity.
