Giant in the sky

Jinyun Haoxi is the hometown of catfish. Jinyun Haoxi has traces of Xuanyuan Tiannian. Today, there are scenic spots such as Guishan, Wangguidong and Jinguiyan in the Haoxi River in the Xiandu area of Jinyun, all of which are related to the giant salamander in the ancient Haoxi River.

Giant salamander Xuanyuan was first discovered in 1946. In the winter of this year, Zuo Ku Ren Lu of Jinyun found a three-foot giant salamander on the shore of Shangfen Mountain in Haoxi, and swallowed a scaly eel in one gulp, which made Lu dumbfounded. 1968 In the spring, a woman in Qianming Village came back from the market in Huzhen, passing by Zuoku Reservoir, and saw a giant giant giant salamander suddenly jump into the stream from the shore. A huge white wave immediately rose in the water, and the woman was scared to lie on the ground on the spot. A few days later, the brothers surnamed Li came home from home and saw a huge salamander in Zuoku Reservoir in front of the palace. One of them picked up a stone and smashed it. The first one missed, and the second one was caught by the python. After that, the name of the giant salamander became louder and louder, and it appeared in front of the villagers more and more frequently. Nearby villagers gathered at the edge of Zuoku Reservoir to see the giant salamander, with tens of thousands of people at most. Provincial Fisheries Research Institute and Shanghai Xijiao Park specially sent experts to visit Jinyun Zuoku. Experts witnessed the giant salamander's stalwart posture and agreed that it is about 3 meters long, 2 meters wide, 30 centimeters long on its head and weighs 400 to 500 kilograms, making it the largest giant salamander ever discovered in the world.

Out of admiration for the Yellow Emperor, rural people in Jinyun have always been in awe of the giant salamander, the incarnation of the Yellow Emperor. Historically, they did not have the habit of preying on giant salamanders, but often bought giant salamanders and released them. Some fishermen, after catching catfish by mistake, will tie copper wire and red line to the tail of catfish and put it back into the water for good luck.

However, due to this special influence, modern people have lost their due respect for nature.

1968 On the 10th day of the first month, several young men in Zuoku Village threw explosives at the south of Jingangtan Bridge site, more than ten meters above the water. Because the fuse was too long, the explosion point was all more than ten meters away from the giant salamander. The giant salamander unhurriedly evaded several times and swam into the deep pool. On the 13th day of the first month, hundreds of people waited for the giant salamander to swim out on the highway north of Jingangtan. Several young people in Yan Song Village prepared bamboo rafts, brought explosives and detonators, started the generator, and prepared to blow up the giant salamander. After waiting for half an hour, at the end of the reservoir, someone shouted: "chinemys reevesii is coming!" People ran over and saw that the turtle's back was 20 cm above the water, and its tail was yellowish brown, flat and about 2 feet long. When people approached, they quickly fled into the deep pool. Since then, more people have come to see it. Many of them are from Yongkang, Dongyang, Pan 'an, Xianju and Jinhua. It was a sea of people. Commune district and county cadres report to Lishui Military Division and Provincial Military Management Committee.

/kloc-On October 28th, experts from Provincial Fisheries Research Institute and Shanghai Xijiao Park arrived in Jinyun. The next day, the experts saw this chinemys reevesii with their own eyes. A few days later, Tang, director of the Reservoir Revolutionary Committee, also came. On February 12, experts witnessed the activities of this big turtle again. After observing with a telescope, they decided to call this chinemys reevesii a giant turtle. It is about 3 meters long and 2 meters wide, and its head diameter is over 0.3 meters. It looks like an eel head, weighing more than 400 kilograms, with a dark green body and a light yellow back. After the study, it was decided to capture the giant salamander alive, so a leading group for catching the giant salamander was set up, headed by Li Dengsong, minister of the People's Armed Forces Department of Huzhen District. More than ten people were dispatched and two ships and seven nets were transported. After repeated research, the fishing team believes that if people are in danger of being swallowed up when fishing, they can only be rounded up with nets. First, it sank into the river at the end of the month and blocked three major nets. As a result, I was dragged away by them, and the giant catfish disappeared. On the afternoon of 22nd, the giant salamander was enclosed in the water area 100 meters upstream of the reservoir dam, and six large nets formed a half-moon circle. As the sky suddenly rained that night, the fishing net could not be recovered in time. When I closed the net the next day, I found that the giant salamander had been torn and disappeared, indicating that it had escaped. On the 27 th, the gate was opened to release water. On the 29 th, except for the original deep pool, the accumulated water was basically drained. A comprehensive search was conducted on the 30th, and no trace of the giant was found. It is believed that the giant salamander has drilled into the sand and lurked in the hole. At the beginning of March, the fishing teams of the two provinces evacuated in vain.
