Foreword of Liu's Origin History in Hunan Province

Since ancient times, there has been a history of the state, a government with aspirations, and a genealogy of the family. Compiling history and compiling genealogy is a move of prosperity for the country, the nation and the family. At the time of prosperity, the country advocates harmony, which is the time to link the past with the future. It is Liu's fine tradition to think of filial piety first and to preserve the history of the family. On the opening day of the fifth Hunan Liu's Friendship Conference, The History of Hunan Liu's Origin was officially published. The publication of this book will play a role in preserving the history of the country and educating future generations, and it is also a happy event for the 4.8 million people named Liu in Huxiang. The remembrance of the past is the teacher of the future "She" will carry forward Hunan Liu's fine tradition and push forward Hunan Liu's culture.

Liu's culture has a long history. According to Zuo Zhuan, Shi Ji Xia Bengang, Han Geography, New Tang Book, Prime Minister's Genealogy Table, Han Book, Gao Di Ji, Yuanhe County Map, Zhou Li and other historical books and Liu's Genealogy, Yao in ancient times. Liu Lei, the prime minister of Xia Dynasty, was the 18th ancestor of Liu's surname. Liu Bang, the Emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty, was the 75th ancestor of Liu's surname. It has lasted for more than 4, years and has been passed down for more than 18 generations since it originated from Ming Gong. Since the Western Han Dynasty, Liu has been in power for more than 7 years, including 66 emperors, 12 uprising leaders and 1 president.

Liu, Hunan Province, established the "Liu's Changsha Kingdom" in 158 BC. Liu Fa, the son of Liu Qi, the Emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, was the first king of Changsha, and was posthumously appointed as the king (the "Dingwangtai" is now preserved). It lasted for 164 years. During the Han and Jin Dynasties, Changsha Liu was a great county in China. Liu moved to Hunan and died in the Western Han Dynasty, which took shape in the Northern Song Dynasty, reached its climax in Hongwu and its aftermath in the early Qing Dynasty. In the meantime, it experienced two great immigrants, namely "being absorbed into Chu" and "Jiangxi filling in Huguang". On March 31st, 28, Hunan Citizen Information Administration published in xiaoxiang morning herald that there are 4,799,256 people surnamed Liu in Hunan, accounting for 7.5% of the total population of the province, and Liu is the second surname in Hunan. As an important part of Hunan's population, Liu's population has made great contributions to Hunan's development, progress and economic prosperity. Liu Fa, the King of Changsha of Liu in the Western Han Dynasty, made great contributions to expanding the territory of Hunan. Today, Hunan's vast territory and abundant resources should be attributed to my ancestor Liu. Former president and Liu Shaoqi urged the development of the national economy, and today's prosperity and strength came about. In order to trace back to the past, explore Liu's history and promote Huxiang culture, with the strong support of Hunan Yanhuang Culture Research Association, the editorial department of Hunan Liu's origin history was established to edit and publish this unprecedented Hunan Liu's origin history.

The History of Liu's Origin in Hunan is divided into three parts: Liu's Origin, Liu's Culture and Hunan's Origin. The first article describes the origin, migration and distribution of Liu's family in China and even in the world. The second chapter describes Liu's family discipline, preface and postscript to imperial edicts, celebrity praise and evaluation, tourism development, etc. The third chapter describes the origin of Liu's ancestors in Hunan, the general situation of the ancestors who moved to Hunan, and the migration and distribution of Liu's people in various cities, counties (cities) and districts of the province, and the origin and pedigree map of each branch.

The book began to collect data in 1998, and the first draft was written in 28. The first draft of Liuyi was completed in the autumn of 21, which lasted for 13 years. In the process of collecting extensive information, China Literature and History Museum, Shanghai Library, Hunan Library, Hunan Local Records Museum, Shaoqi Memorial Hall, He Guangyue Library, World Liu Clan Network, China Liu Clan Network and more than 5 Liu Clan in Hunan provided valuable information. In the process of editing, He Guangyue wrote History of the Origin and Development of Chinese Surnames, Liu Lei Clan and Lushan History and Culture edited by Du Yunya, Hunan Clan Origin edited by Hunan Library, Hunan Provincial Records and People's Records compiled by Hunan Local Records Compilation Committee, and more than 2, Liu Family Tree, Liu Datong Genealogy and Liu Datong Genealogy provided by Liu clansmen from all over Hunan. I traced the history of the Liu clan back to the beginning of Yi Qi, and arrested the descendants; Ming Zhao Mu is respectful of courtesy, the order of the young is respectful of teeth, and the ancestors are respectful of thought. The relationship between the monarch and the relatives is one principle, and loyalty and filial piety are one. Those who forget it are called inverse, those who leave it are called abandonment, and those who are slow are called blasphemy. When you are a minister, you should do your best, and when you are a son, you should be cautious and pursue the future. The compilation of the History of Liu's Origin in Hunan Province is a great undertaking of writing and a great event for the family. Based on the principle of detailing the present and respecting historical facts, this book basically clarifies the lineage, researches the origin, studies the characters and educates future generations. However, due to wars and natural disasters in Hunan history, the population migrated everywhere; In addition, it was destroyed by the "Cultural Revolution" (1966-1976), and the information was incomplete. Although the editors have made great efforts, mistakes and omissions are still inevitable. I urge all leaders, experts, readers and Liu's relatives in Hunan to criticize and give advice so that they can revise and supplement when they continue to repair.
