How to apply for a short-term visa and a work visa in Iraq

According to the current entry and exit regulations in Iraq, foreigners can apply for Iraqi visas at Iraqi consulates in various countries with invitations, admission notices, work permits and other relevant certificates, but they must be approved by the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior and issue approval documents.

1. Before the laborers come to Iraq, they should apply to the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Interior for the laborers' work permit according to the contract signed by both parties, notify the Iraqi embassy through the Ministry of Interior, and then apply for visas to Iraq at Iraqi embassies and consulates in various countries.

Second, after the laborers invited by the employer came to Iraq with short-term visas, the two sides signed a lonely shadow contract, and then the employer was responsible for applying for work permits and long-term residence visas in the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Interior. The long-term residence visa is signed once a year and must be applied 30 days before its expiration.

3. Foreigners entering Iraq, whether you hold an Iraqi tourist visa, an Iraqi work visa or an Iraqi business visa, need to apply for an exit visa at the Iraqi Ministry of Interior when leaving the country.
