Why is the movie Chongqing Forest called Chongqing Forest?

"Chongqing Forest" is not in Chongqing, nor is it a forest. Chongqing Forest is a hotel, which is the residence of Wong Kar-wai when he first immigrated to Hong Kong-Chongqing Hotel.

The characters in the play always keep a lost love, and then wait for the preservation period to pass in order to start the next relationship. The two stories seem to dilute the indifference and glamour in the city, leaving so much warmth to appreciate. The forest is not only a space where wild animals devour each other, but also a place where they communicate with each other emotionally. They just don't know how to do it. So, they fled from each other, searched and waited repeatedly in the lost place, kept calling and isolated from each other.
