“Sanya phobia”

I don’t know since when, Sanya tourism has gradually been replaced by a word that everyone doesn’t like, that is: “expensive”. People who have been to Sanya have all kinds of suspicions and wariness about this place. What's more, when I came to Sanya, some friends reminded me: "Pay attention to safety" and "Be careful of being cheated."

So in my imagination, Sanya should be a super prosperous place with airtight high-rise buildings and a lack of human touch. But when I arrived, I discovered that it was just the opposite.

Sanya in my eyes

The Sanya in front of me is vast and flat. Except for a few buildings standing abruptly in the city center, it no longer looks like a "big city". They are all coconut trees, and the vegetation coverage is extremely high. When driving on the road, you often can't see a decent house. At stations, restaurants, hotels, and taxis, people’s accents come from all over the country, and most of them are “Laotie”.

The huge contrast between the real scene in front of me and the imaginary scenery made me feel at ease.

As a tourist from other places, I found an inexplicable "sense of belonging" in an "immigration city" where "outsiders" are everywhere.

Looking at the dense coconut groves in the distance, I immediately decided that I would stay here for a few more days.

After making this decision, you must first find a place to stay.

At this time, I was standing in the square of Sanya Railway Station. The sun was burning my face like a furnace, and I felt like I was melting into the heat. I saw a bus stop in the distance with a pergola, so I walked over.

There are three means of transportation here, one is bus, the other is tram, and the third is taxi.

There is a table at the entrance of the tram. Behind the table sits a tall boy, wearing station uniforms with a badge on his chest. From time to time he explains the route to passing tourists. .

Let me share a little experience here: When traveling to a place where you are unfamiliar with the place, if you have any questions and need consultation, you must find a uniformed "staff member". It can be a flight attendant, railway staff, taxi driver, conductor, or even courier, convenience store salesperson, hotel waiter... As long as the other party is wearing a uniform, the answer they provide must be better than that provided by strangers or passers-by. Some "responsibility". This is also a safer and safer way to travel alone.

I walked over and the boy immediately stood up from behind the table. He spoke Mandarin with a Northeastern accent and asked me where I was going.

I said: I don’t know where to go now, so I want to ask you, where does this tram go?

He had a very good attitude and said: Only go to the urban area.

I asked: Is there anything fun in the city?

He said: Tourists generally go to Haitang Bay and Yalong Bay.

I asked again: Are there any other "bays"?

He said very bluntly: Yes, but I suggest you go to these two bays first.

I said: So, of these two "bays", under the same conditions, which place has the cheaper hotel?

He said: The prices in Haitang Bay are relatively low.

I asked: Are you familiar with Haitang Bay? Are there any recommended areas?

He said: Have you heard of Houhai?

……

I didn’t take the tram or a taxi. Instead, I took the No. 33 bus and went straight to Houhai.

My trip to Sanya starts here.

Sanya is not suitable for "poor travel", but it does not mean that it is not suitable for poor people to travel. You can be poor in your pocket, but don't be so poor in your heart and mind.

Sometimes, if you think about problems in a different way, you will gain a new life; if you look at the world in a different way of traveling, you will gain beautiful memories worth remembering for a lifetime.

Sanya also has Houhai

Sanya’s “Houhai” is a fishing village in Haitang Bay. The difference between this Houhai and Beijing’s Houhai is that there is really a sea here.

It was already dark, but there was a lot of excitement here. The doors were close to the doors and the lights were shining. I seemed to smell the sea breeze and eating barbecue, and my mood suddenly became excited.

But my current task is to find a place to live first.

Standing in the middle of the road, he took out his mobile phone and searched for nearby accommodation. The hotel won't consider it because it's a place where young couples stay. When I travel alone, I'd better find a place with many people to stay so I won't be lonely.

There are so many inns nearby! I picked out about 10 houses closest to the sea, and eliminated those with bad reviews, and those that were renovated earlier and those that were old-fashioned... It only took me, an unconcerned Leo, 10 minutes to decide decisively. We decided on a place to live.

It turns out that I made the right choice, because the next trip told me that choosing the right inn in Sanya is really important.

When you arrive in Sanya, if you choose the right place to live, it is equivalent to gaining a scenic spot and a group of friends.

The impression of a place during travel is often related to the first thing you come into contact with there.

I arrived at the inn relatively late, and the front desk told me that there were no rooms available. I stood alone in the hall, a little depressed. A very fat dog came over and circled around my legs. I played with the dog, my mind was at a loss, and I was chatting with two girls sitting on a chair on one side.

During the chat, the two of them exchanged glances, and one of them suddenly said to me: Sister, we have just arrived. We only booked the last family room, and now there is a small room available. Bed, would you like to live in it? Just share some of the money.

The inn where I stayed

On my first day in Sanya, I stayed in an inn like this. The owner was an older literary man, handsome, good at cooking, and well-raised. A Labrador.

It was this inn that refreshed my impression of Sanya. I finally understand why more and more young people like to travel to Sanya.

The air here is free, a bit like Lijiang, but there is no sea in Lijiang, but there is one here.

This is also a "surfing base". Just a few steps away from the back door of the inn is the beach. There are many people surfing in the sea every day, and there are also many skateboarding boys. Once you come here, you won't leave and stay here. , and lived his "dream life" by the sea.

In order to satisfy these young people, the boss even built a unique "inn skateboard pool" in Haitang Bay in the yard.

The professional term is: Wanchi.

No matter what tourist attractions I go to, I can just take a vacation here. It’s much more fun here than those regular tourist attractions.

I observed that the inns nearby are next to each other, but their family is the most popular and has the youngest atmosphere.

I am very happy to stay in this inn. Although the room is not big, it is rare and bright, not depressing at all. The decoration color is simple and high-end gray, the bed sheets are clean and warm, and the cleaning aunt is very helpful. Very polite and very cost-effective overall. In the most comfortable temperature in January, the per capita price here does not exceed 200, which can be said to be a great value.

The inn where I stayed on my first day in Sanya was located at Shangyin Haiyuan Inn, No. 111, Tenghaidong Village, Linwang Town, Haitang District, Sanya City.

The boss should still remember me. My name is Dahong. If you mention my name, I might give you a broken bone. [Face covering]

Houhai "Food Street"

The next day, when I was woken up by children playing skateboards in the yard, I was already three o'clock in the morning.

After getting up, I went for a walk nearby. The air was moist and the sunshine was just right. The aborigines here ride in and out on electric scooters, greet each other cordially, ask for directions, and give directions in a friendly manner.

There are many small alleys here with a sea flavor. Tall coconut trees rush towards you through the gaps between the buildings. When you look up, there are still coconuts hanging on them.

Turning out of the alley and onto the main road, I saw, my God, this is simply a food street! Chongqing hot pot, Chengdu chuanchuaner, Hunan cuisine stone pot fish, Northeastern dumplings, Hainan specialties and small bars are all available here.

The small pier is very beautiful

After walking along the road in the village, I found a small pier. This pier is very original and not overly decorated. The blue of the water is a little deep, but very clear. From time to time, cars pull in and out of the sea, and every girl who passes by here takes pictures non-stop.

Summary:

The first step when traveling alone in Sanya: Choose the right place to stay.

Traveling alone is like this in Sanya. Staying in an inn is equivalent to getting one or even a bunch of small attractions. Therefore, it is very important to choose an inn. A good innkeeper will take you to play and be your guide. You can play something different from others.

In addition, you can save a lot of money by being a cheerful person and choosing to share a room with friends you can talk to on the road.

When I traveled in the past, I liked staying in youth hostels. There were eight beds in a room, and it was nice to have everyone chatting and laughing. And with the coming of age and rise of the post-00 generation, old people like me who are wandering around the world have gradually lost the same language as the "children"... After all, living in an atmosphere that is not suitable for me is not the same in any way. Something that can make you happy.

So now I will be very smart and look for places that are more suitable for those born in the 80s and 90s, which are inns with more characteristics. Isn’t that what traveling is all about? Staying where you like, playing the things you like, and eating the food you like.

The second step when traveling alone in Sanya: Choose the right means of transportation.

My mode of transportation is: long-distance bus + short-distance taxi + carpooling + car rental.

Sanya’s bus network is relatively developed. You can get there from most urban areas and villages, and it only costs a few yuan.

In Sanya, if you take a taxi, the distance is relatively long and the cost is relatively high. The cost for a 20km journey is about 80 yuan, so taxis are more suitable for short-distance travel in Sanya.

In Sanya, there will be people carpooling at the entrance of every village or at the pier, usually for a distance of 20km, and the price per person is about 20 yuan.

In Sanya, there are many trams that charge by the minute, and they offer discounts and activities from time to time. This method is suitable for small groups of no more than four people. The per capita cost is lower than carpooling. Just scan it. Traveling is very convenient.

Back at the inn, the boss told me that there is a newly opened scenic spot nearby that is free of entry fees, called: Sanya Haichang Dream Ocean Evernight City, you can go there have a look.

So that afternoon, I spent more than ten yuan to take a taxi to this amusement park, and played there until 11 o'clock at night. See my related article on January 27 for details.
