Introduction to Wuhe Township

Wuhe Township is located in the southwest of Shangcheng County and upstream of Catfish Mountain Reservoir. Wangpeng, the township government’s residence, is 25 kilometers away from the county seat. The township is surrounded by water in the northeast, Wanggang, Tangquanchi and Daquandian in the southeast, Yuji and Fengdian in the southwest, and Wangqiao and Catfish Mountain in the northwest. Wuhe Commune was initially established in 1975 and renamed Wuhe Township in 1983. It currently governs Wuhe, Zengwa, Mache, Guomiao, Zhangdian, Qizhongwan, Fanqi, Chenwa, Gaofan, Shenfan, Zengyoufang, Liujiafan, Wan'an, Qingtang'ao, Lianhuashan, Kai Juesi has 16 administrative villages, 262 residential groups, 6,370 households, and 27,321 people (in 2003); the total area of ??the township is 107.4 square kilometers, including 12,000 acres of cultivated land. It is a typical shallow mountainous area and reservoir area immigrant township.
