Passport lost replacement process

Passport loss reporting and replacement procedures are as follows:

1. First inform the Immigration Bureau of the loss of passport and visa, and then inform the school to postpone the start date;

2. Report the case to the lost police station and ask for the report certificate;

3. Publish a report of loss reporting in a newspaper designated by the local exit-entry administration office at or above the municipal level;

4. Bring my ID card and household registration book, and apply for a new passport at the local entry-exit administration office with the above two certificates. The time limit stipulated in the procedure is 3 months;

5. After obtaining the passport, get in touch with the embassy, submit the report certificate and the copy of the loss report statement to the person in charge of the embassy, and go through the visa subsidy procedures.

Legal basis:

Article 11 of the Passport Law of the People's Republic of China is under any of the following circumstances, the passport holder may apply for a new or reissued passport in accordance with the provisions:

(1) The passport is about to expire;

(2) The passport visa page is about to run out;

(3) The passport is damaged and cannot be used;

(4) The passport is lost or stolen;

(5) Other circumstances in which a passport needs to be renewed.
