What does ABC mean in America? Why is it an insult to Chinese Americans?

ABC is not insulting language, but its full name is "American-born China". This is an informal and somewhat ridiculous statement, referring to the descendants of Chinese born in the United States, Chinese with American nationality or Americans with China descent.

According to the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution and the US Supreme Court Act 1898, any China person born in the United States is an American citizen, and immigrants do not need to give up their original nationality to become American citizens. However, Chinese mainland does not recognize dual citizenship, and once it joins the United States, immigrants will be regarded as renouncing China citizenship.

Extended data

There are roughly three kinds of China people in the United States, namely "CBC" (Chinese), CBA (Chinese American) and ABC (American China).

The former two groups are deeply influenced by China culture and can speak Chinese and English fluently, while the latter group is greatly influenced by American culture, and most of them can't speak Chinese. But no matter where the Chinese appear, their ethnic relations and cultural traditions cannot be changed. Perhaps, for many "ABC", the degree of worship and exclusion of foreign countries is much lighter.
