The UK's PSW(Post Study Work) visa policy for international students will be cancelled soon.

According to BBC UK, the PSW(Post Study Work) visa policy for international students will be cancelled on April 6th. So, how should China students respond? What new policies can benefit everyone? Wu Yiyong, a senior official of the International Department of Brunel University in London, made suggestions to China students. Reporter: The PSW(Post Study Work) visa policy will be cancelled on April 6th. What measures will British universities take?

Wu yiyong (hereinafter referred to as "Wu"): first of all, we will let students know about the new policies proposed by the government and the opportunities it brings through internal channels of the university. Secondly, we will invite professional consultants and lawyers to the school to explain the impact of the new policy on international students. We also have a special department to deal with students' consultation in this respect, and there are people who put forward some suggestions for their future development planning.

Reporter: So far, what path do China students prefer to take in the new policy?

Wu: Among the students I met in China, many people are very interested in Tier 1 graduate entrepreneur, mainly because the threshold is not particularly high, and they only need 2, pounds of funds. There are students around me who have successfully obtained this visa. They all want to start their own businesses in Britain, including registering companies and promoting trade between Britain and China.

Reporter: What special advice does your university have for China students?

Wu: We suggest that China students consider various options, because not every student is suitable to stay and develop in the UK. It depends on everyone's situation. We also encourage you to look at the opportunities of going back to China for development, because, after all, compared with Europe, China's economic development prospects are relatively optimistic. Therefore, we hope that China students will not neglect their development opportunities in China.

Reporter: As far as I know, a large proportion of China students studying in Britain choose to return to China for development after graduation. What do you think is the reason?

Wu: I think that apart from the good economic situation and many opportunities in China in recent years, many China students have made plans before coming to study in the UK. The purpose of coming here is to learn knowledge, experience life here and then return to China for development. At the same time, many people have several years of work experience before coming to Britain, so they want to study here and go back to China to continue their careers after graduation.

Reporter: Recently, some other western countries relaxed visa restrictions for international students, but the British government did the opposite. From the perspective of British universities, what do you want from the government?

Wu: We hope that the British government can handle the student visa policy flexibly. First of all, we believe that the student visa should not be included in the number of net immigrants, because it is a short-term visa. Secondly, under the background of the British government's financial tightening, cutting research funds in universities and raising tuition fees for local students, universities urgently need resources for international students, otherwise some universities may face economic crisis. Therefore, we call on the government to adopt a more open and flexible policy.

reporter: in this case, what is the attraction of British education?

Wu: The message Britain wants to convey is that British higher education is a world-class high-quality education, especially the international atmosphere in London can provide a good platform for students. At the same time, there are many internship and work opportunities in London. International students can successfully apply for a work visa if they can be employed by relevant units after graduation and their salary level reaches the annual salary of 2, pounds. Therefore, if it meets the requirements of the government, as long as a company is willing to hire, it is not a big problem to get a visa. This is a very good way out for international students. (
