At the same time, many people have several years of work experience before coming to Britain, so they want to study here and go back to China to continue their careers after graduation.

Wu: We hope that the British government can handle the student visa policy flexibly. First of all, we believe that the student visa should not be included in the number of net immigrants, because it is a short-term visa. Secondly, under the background of the British government's financial tightening, cutting research funds in universities and raising tuition fees for local students, universities urgently need resources for international students, otherwise some universities may face economic crisis. Therefore, we call on the government to adopt a more open and flexible policy.
