What does North Myanmar mean?

North Myanmar refers to the area north of the Myanmar border, including Kachin State, Gong Ke Yebang, Shan State, Ke County Economic and Trade State, Rakhine State and Shan State. The terrain here is complex, with large areas of mountains and hills. Due to historical reasons, the relationship between North Myanmar and the central government is tense.
