The foreign exchange bureau answered questions on how individuals transfer their legitimate property to overseas immigrants.

Individuals who emigrate abroad can handle legal property transfer in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Interim Measures for the Administration of Foreign Exchange Sale and Payment of Personal Property (Announcement of the People's Bank of China [2004]No. 16). The applicant shall provide the applicant's identity certificate, the applicant's property right certificate, and the tax payment certificate or tax payment certificate issued by the competent tax authorities of the place where the property is transferred or the source of income according to the provisions of Article 8 of the announcement. 16. After the legal property owned by individuals in China is realized, they can apply for property transfer to the foreign exchange administration at the place where they originally registered.
