What are the sayings about the spread of buckwheat?

The knowledge that buckwheat spread from China to other parts of the world is the same, but there are still different views on the direction of spread.

Ding Ying wrote in Nong Sheng (1928), "There are two kinds of buckwheat cultivated in China, bitter buckwheat and sweet buckwheat, which originated in the northern end of China and began to be cultivated before the Northern and Southern Dynasties. In the Tang and Song Dynasties, Zhongzhou was already a very cultivated land, in the south. Tartary buckwheat originated in the southwest of China. Since Yuan and Ming Dynasties, it has been planted in the southwest. " Zhang (1982) believes that buckwheat has been cultivated and widely distributed since the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-58 1). Buckwheat was widely cultivated in China in the 7th century. In the Tang Dynasty (7th-9th century), it spread from north to south, and it was also cultivated in mainland China. In the Song Dynasty (10 ~13rd century), it was widely planted in South China and spread to zhina in the north. After the 8th century, buckwheat was planted in Southeast Asia, India and Asia Minor. This view spread from north to south was later supported by Kisuke Xingchuan (1978).

In 1990s, Li Qinyuan and others put forward the idea of spreading from south to north. They pointed out from human history and national history that Yunnan had entered the period of primitive agriculture and domesticated wild plants 7000 ~ 8000 years ago. 4000 years ago, the cloth people in western Yunnan "all lived on the top of the mountain and grew bitter buckwheat for food." According to "Yunnan Madao can sow far away" (1976), it is inferred that "buckwheat far away from Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau can sow far away along the Yangtze River." Shintaro Ishihara has a similar view (1992).

It seems beyond reproach that buckwheat was introduced into Japan from China via Korea. But there are different views on the arrival time. Qing Chuan of Xingchuan believes that it was introduced from China through the Korean Peninsula in the 8th century. In the story of the continuation day, it was first recorded in writing that buckwheat was encouraged to be planted to resist drought for six years (772), and then it was widely planted in mountainous countries such as Nong Xin as food for famine relief. Chang Youda believed that buckwheat was introduced to Japan from China through Korea 3000 years ago, and the introduction time was about 3000 years ago in the late stage of Wensheng in Japan, while He Xin Gu Xiang thought it was in the early stage of Wensheng 5000 ~ 3500 years ago.

European buckwheat was introduced into Russian and Turkish countries from China via Siberia at a relatively late age. It was probably introduced in13 ~14th century after ancient Greece and Rome. According to relevant written records, Germany began to grow buckwheat in 1636. /kloc-was introduced to Belgium, France, Italy, Britain and other places in the 0/7th century.

1625, Dutch immigrants were brought to America via the Hudson River, and then introduced to Canada and South American countries. Later, buckwheat was planted in Africa. In Tamania, Australia, buckwheat was planted in the 1990s.
