Not an agricultural (village) hukou, Xinjiang has established a unified household registration system for urban and rural areas, which is uniformly registered as a "resident hukou". Procedures, certificates and materials for household registration transfer can be referred to as follows:

The Regulations on Household Registration in People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that:
