[Editor] Story

Peter mcdermott: The protagonist is Peter mcdermott; Have a past general manager. He graduated from Cornell University majoring in hotel management, and then got a job in a hotel. However, when he was supposed to be on duty, he had sex with a lady. This gives Peter's wife and the lady's husband a reason to ask for a divorce. Being involved in it is not something that the hotel should avoid, but it has become the headline news of the newspaper, so that he was fired and blacklisted. But Warren Trent, the head of the Santigregori Hotel, ignored the past and hired him for his skills. This novel records mcdermott's attempts to deal with several crises in the hotel, which involve a series of other characters.

Financial problems of the hotel: the mortgage that the hotel can't repay and can't be extended will expire on Friday and must be sold. Curtis O'Keefe, who owns a large hotel chain, plans to buy the Santigregori Hotel in New Orleans, because the O'Keefe hotel chain has no hotels here. They offered to pay the due 2 million mortgage and10 million dollars, and provide Warren Trent with a place to live. However, Warren didn't want to lose the hotel he had cultivated for so long. They decided to make a decision on the deal on Friday afternoon's timetable. At the same time, Warren Trent decided to reach an agreement with Journey man Union, which had long wanted to enter the hotel industry but failed. In this way, Warren Trent can maintain the independence of the hotel and still have a say in hotel affairs. Traveleman has decided to send two of his supervisors to study hotel books on Thursday, and then decide between Warren Trent and Curtis O'Keefe before the deadline of Friday afternoon. Royall Edwards of Santigregori has been appointed by Warren Trent to work with these two officials, if it is necessary to stay up all night so that they can finish the whole research. However, when the news that blacks were denied access to hotels made headlines, the Skilled Workers Union broke the agreement. Warren Trent had no choice but to give in to Curtis O'Keefe. What surprised him most was that a few minutes before noon on Friday, the bank manager who refused to refinance the hotel made a proposal that a person who could not be named at that time would pay the mortgage and buy the main shares of the hotel. Warren Trent will be the chairman. Although Warren knew he was just a figurehead, he accepted it because it was a better proposal.

Christine and Albert Wells: Christine is Warren Trent's secretary. Peter and Christine like each other. They have a lot in common and think they will be happy together. In the hotel, a guest, Mr Albert Wells, had a medical problem in his room. The hotel staff was very alert and quickly moved him to another room. He is very old. Because Albert Wells is a hotel guest, Christine takes care of him personally. Martha Prescott: In another incident, a group of teenage boys made a major incident, which was aggravated by the fact that they were the sons of local bankers, car dealers and other town celebrities. They tried to rape Martha Prescott, the daughter of Mr Prescott who is currently in Rome. However, hearing her screams, a black man and Warren Trent's main assistant treated him as a son. ) intervention, Martha was able to escape. Peter handled the situation and asked every boy involved to write a written apology. In these letters, the evil foreman Herbie Chandler is regarded as the person who caused this incident. On the other hand, Martha fell in love with Peter mcdermott and proposed to him. Considering her wealth and beauty, Peter found it difficult to say no to her, but in the end he said no because he knew he liked Christine. Howie Hull overcame his guilt when he learned from Anna (Martha's maid foreman) that she was always the same and would get better after a while, and that Anna was not married. However, Martha made up a good background to convince Peter Harder that Anna and her husband lived very well. She only met once before she got married, and there was no need to know someone for too long before she decided to get married.

Dentist's Congress: The hotel business gets the least profit from the rent, but most of its profit comes from the food and meetings held in the hotel. As its sequel, a major dental congress should be held in Santigregori. Dr. Ingram, the chairman of the conference, has arrived and settled down in his room. Then, a black Mr. Nicholas came to the counter and showed a confirmed reservation. However, the hotel policy does not allow blacks to stay. Dr. Ingram was very disappointed and threatened the hotel authorities that he would take the meeting out of the hotel, causing great losses to the hotel. When Peter and Warren discussed the matter, he said that after several discussions, the matter would be forgotten and the conference would be held, so there was no need to worry. After several meetings, the general assembly finally decided to stay in office, although Mr. Ingram had resigned.

Curtis O'Keefe and Toto: Curtis O'Keefe, who owns a large hotel chain, plans to buy the Santigregori Hotel in New Orleans. He spends more time with his girlfriend. But Curtis should move on. He got the movie role of the dodo and planned to go to new york to meet his new girlfriend. When Warren told Curtis that he didn't accept Curtis's proposal to sell the hotel, Curtis was very disappointed. In a rage, he told Toto that he didn't want her. Duoduo is very sad, even though she already knows the truth. She had to board the flight to Los Angeles and take elevator 4, because she was going to move out of the hotel.

Duke and Duchess of Croydon: In another example, Duke and Duchess of Croydon hid in a hotel to avoid their responsibility for a terrible hit-and-run accident, which was the focus of a famous hit-and-run case in the newspaper. The duke went to a nightclub, and the duchess went to the nightclub to find her husband. On the way back, the duchess bumped into a woman and her daughter, and the two women and daughters died on the spot. However, in the accident, the headlights and decorative rings of the car were damaged. Anyway, the Duke and Duchess went back to the hotel, trying to find their way out so as to leave a trace of their involvement in the accident. When the waiter came to the presidential suite with dinner, the duchess deliberately hit the waiter, so that her skirt was stained. The duchess created a big problem for this, just to make the hotel feel her presence, which can be interpreted as that she is in the hotel. But Olgilvy, the chief interior officer, got the hint and tried to blackmail the Duke and Duchess. They finally reached an agreement that Olgilvy would drive their Jaguar to Chicago and pay him a total of $25,000. In addition, Olgilvy will leave New Orleans when the police identify which car's broken headlights and decorative pieces belong to. The trip should be on Thursday night 1 am. Oglivie received a written notice from the Duchess, asking her to drive out of the garage for each task, in case the garage manager asked. When he drove out of the hotel, Peter was walking into the hotel. They made eye contact, although Peter didn't think much. However, recalling all the events … Olgilvy was driving a Jaguar … Jaguar's b roken headlights belonging to the Duke and Duchess. ... the duchess's fuss about the waiter established a connection between the duke and duchess's participation. Peter asked the garage manager. He told Olgilvy that there was a written notice from the Duchess, so he could take the car away, but somehow, the notice was misplaced. Peter reported the incident to the police captain Ewers, but they couldn't prove it without any evidence. After hard work, the incinerator official in charge of garbage collection managed to find this note. The duchess frowned when the note was handed to her. The duke then decided to admit his crime, and decided to leave and step into the hotel's elevator No.4.

Key case: Milne: A hotel thief who runs in Santigregori. He managed to get the keys of several rooms in the hotel by trickery, asked for the keys of other rooms from the reception desk, used girls to get the keys for him and many other methods. When he met the Duke and Duchess in the hotel, he thought it would be an excellent breakthrough if he could get the key to their room. He managed to get the key from the reception desk, prepared a copy, and stole the Duchess's fifteen thousand dollars and jewels from her room. After getting so much money, he decided to leave the hotel and board the No.4 elevator.

High tide: The meeting scheduled for Friday morning 1 1.30 to take over the hotel is ready. Mr. Dempster from new york has come to tell who is the boss. It is Albert Wells who bought the hotel. He is a guest of the hotel. Christine once took care of him and thought that he was not a rich man. To Peter's greatest surprise, Peter was appointed as the executive vice president of Santigregori, and will manage the hotel together with Dempster, and Dempster will be the chairman of all other hotels owned by Albert Wells. During the meeting, Christine ran over to tell everyone that there was an accident in elevator 4 and it fell freely.

Duoduo suffered many injuries and was rushed to the hospital. At that time; Curtis realized how much he loved and found the best neurosurgeon for her. She was quickly out of danger. Duke died instantly in the elevator. The duchess was still cold and expressionless when she heard this. The police captain named Gors thinks that since Duke is dead and the Duchess can save herself, the blame for the hit-and-run can be easily transferred to Duke. Keith managed to escape safely and fled the country with all his money. Warren Trent is glad that he can keep his hotel as chairman. The evil foreman Herbie Chandler will be paralyzed forever and will never be able to work again. Jin Luxian Royce left the hotel to study his law.
