The historical background of the film (see the light of day again)

Based on real events, the film tells the story of an American pilot who was unfortunately captured while performing his duties and successfully escaped from prison with his comrades in a prison camp.

abstract

German-born Dieter Danler (Christian Bale) dreamed of flying in the sky since he was a child.

When he grew up, he immigrated to America with his family, joined the army and became a real pilot.

Later, Dieter joined the navy and went to Vietnam.

On the way to the mission, Dieter was unfortunately shot down by the Vietnamese ground artillery.

He had a narrow escape, but he was finally caught and tortured by the enemy.

Dieter was taken to a prisoner of war concentration camp in Laos, where there were several American soldiers.

Guarding the enemy and treating them inhumanely, Dieter is determined to escape before he sits down, but his companions Jean (Jeremy Davies) and Duane (steve zahn) don't think so. They don't have much confidence.

After some persuasion, Dieter carefully planned to escape from prison when the rainy season came.

They have to face endless jungle, hunger, wild animals and Vietnamese who don't know where they are.
