After the Yushu earthquake in Qinghai Province, the Ministry quickly implemented the decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, took the disaster as an order, put people's lives above everything else, acted quickly, and fully organized and invested in earthquake relief and prevented secondary geological disasters. The earthquake relief work of the land and resources system was timely, powerful and effective, and achieved phased victory.

Under the unified leadership of the Party Committee, many teams from the land and resources system of Qinghai Province immediately rushed to the disaster area to carry out earthquake relief, prevention and control of secondary geological disasters, geological safety evaluation of resettlement sites, emergency water search and well drilling, etc., to serve the victims' rescue and resettlement, participate in post-disaster reconstruction, and still work hard in the disaster area. Shaanxi and Gansu land and resources systems dispatched elite soldiers, brought their own equipment and materials, and went to the disaster areas to carry out emergency investigation and geological disaster investigation and evaluation. China Geological Survey and its subordinate units rushed to the site in time to carry out geological disaster emergency investigation and fault zone investigation and study, and obtained interpreted remote sensing data and provided them to relevant departments.

Comrades working in the disaster area ahead overcame multiple difficulties such as altitude hypoxia, aftershocks, inconvenient transportation, low temperature, rain and snow, and successfully completed various tasks, which provided a reliable basis for the recovery and reconstruction of the disaster area and laid a solid foundation for disaster prevention and mitigation. Comrades working in the rear actively participated in earthquake relief and contributed to post-disaster recovery and reconstruction, and achieved remarkable results. In this process, it fully embodies the fighting capacity and cohesion of the broad masses of cadres and workers in the land and resources system, and has won wide praise from the earthquake-stricken areas and all walks of life.

In order to summarize and carry forward the good ideas, good style and successful experience in earthquake relief work, and promote earthquake relief work, our department decided to give a notice of praise to 27 units involved in the emergency investigation of earthquake and geological disasters in Yushu, Qinghai and 794 individuals including Liu and others who participated in the emergency investigation of earthquake and geological disasters in Yushu, Qinghai.
