Is it possible to get a work visa in the United States directly after graduation?

You need a work visa after you find a job. In the United States, after studying abroad, there is usually one year of OPT time. The abbreviation of optional training is the internship period with American F 1 student visa after graduation.

Students with F 1 visa can have optional practical training of 1 year or choose short courses after graduation. During this period, you have a work permit and can serve any company, but you are required to do something related to your major. This period is basically unrestricted and you can stay in the United States.

OPT application should start 3-4 months before the date you plan to start work, because sometimes it takes a long time to process. OPT can start not when you graduate, but the day after you complete all the courses required for graduation. For example, if you graduate in May this year, May 24th is your real graduation date, and all your courses end on May 15, then you can start OPT on May 16. If you don't want to start on May 16, you can choose to start on any day between May 16 and July 15, which means giving you a grace period of 60 days. If you graduate in May, you must start working in July. But you have to apply in advance, for example, if you want to start in May 16, then you'd better apply at the end of June 1, and so on.

After OPT, if you haven't got a work visa, you must return to China unless you re-enter an American school as an international student.
