Dujiangyan Muslim Baoping Temple, also known as "Guanxian Maogong Mosque". During the Revolution of 1911, when the road protection movement occurred in Sichuan, which later directly led to the collapse of the Qing government, the Xiaojin Hui people actively participated in this struggle. However, Xiaojin is located on the northwest plateau of Sichuan, and the Xiaojin Hui people who participated in the road protection movement were weak. After Xiaojin, they were persecuted by the Qing government and local feudal forces. In order to escape the persecution, Xiaojin Hui people brought their families to settle in Guanxian County. In this way, the number of Hui residents in Guanxian County increased rapidly, which can be regarded as the fourth climax of Hui migration in Dujiangyan. But this brings about a problem, that is, the Nanjie Mosque cannot accommodate so many people worshiping at the same time. The solution to this contradiction is to build another mosque.
In 1925, Xiaojin Hui immigrants raised funds to build the "Maogong Mosque". The history of the construction of the Maogong Mosque is connected with the road protection movement that overthrew the Qing Dynasty, and it has become a glorious page worth reading. In the early years, Maogong Temple consisted of a temple and a courtyard. In addition to the mosque, there was also a courtyard with a stable, which was built to receive Hui business travelers coming along the Jinchuan Road. The outer wall of the mosque has a Central Asian style. The main building is a Chinese-style building with a worship hall as the main building, equipped with left and right wing rooms. The main hall has a spacious colonnade. Because of its rich architectural features, rich in era and national style, it is listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Chengdu.
After liberation, the temple gradually became a residence. It was seriously damaged in the "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, but was later rebuilt. It is called "Baoping Temple" because it is located next to Baopingkou, one of the key projects of Dujiangyan's three major weir head projects. The mosque we see now has a new appearance after reconstruction after the disaster. It has become an important landscape on West Street and Baoping Lane. It stands majestically on the bank of the Neijiang River, attracting tourists. Although it only has a history of just over 80 years, it is a historical witness to the end of a dynasty in the Qing Dynasty.
