Thoughts on Qian Xuesen

At the weekend, I finished reading Qian Xuesen in my spare time. After reading it, I was deeply touched, which made me feel that Qian Xuesen was a great man. He is a great patriot.

The story goes something like this: 1949+ 10 year 10 month, the new China was born. After hearing the news, Qian Xuesen, then the director of the American Supersonic Laboratory, was deeply happy for the new life of the motherland. When he was ready to return to China, he was stopped by American imperialism by all means.

When I read the sentence "Qian Xuesen is from China and I am from China", I was really, really moved by him. His strong patriotism is really unparalleled. I felt a little puzzled at that time. He wanted to go back to the newly established China, not to be a well-paid American laboratory director.

I continued to look down. It turned out that he wanted to return to the motherland, use his knowledge and inventions to serve the country, use his own efforts and creations to keep China from falling behind, and use science to continuously benefit the motherland and people. This shows Qian Xuesen's attachment to the motherland.

In real life, I feel that my understanding and feelings for my motherland are not deep enough. Whenever New China's birthday comes, I always don't care much. After reading Qian Xuesen, I found that I did really badly. I am determined to follow Qian Xuesen's example, cherish the motherland forever, put the interests of the motherland and the people first, and be a good boy who loves the country and the people.
