In order to alleviate the pressure on the "Canadian Experience Category" (CEC) immigration backlog, federal Immigration Minister Chris Alexander announced that starting from November 9, 2013 From now until October 31, 2014, a maximum of 12,000 new CEC applications will be accepted. And the following six occupations, due to too many applicants, are no longer eligible to apply for the Canadian experience category from now on: cooks (NOC6322); foodservice supervisors (NOC6311); administrative officers (NOC1221); administrative assistants (administrative assistants, NOC1241); accountants and bookkeepers (accounting technicians and bookkeepers, NOC1311); retail supervisors (retailsales supervisors, NOC6211).
