Why do you need a certificate of studying abroad to apply for a passport this year?

We all need policies during the epidemic now. Affected by the epidemic, the National Immigration Bureau tightened the issuance of passports, and temporarily refused to issue ordinary passports and other entry and exit documents due to non-essential and non-emergency exit reasons. Moreover, the materials for handling ordinary passports are also more strictly examined.

1. I have received the admission notice from a foreign school and will study abroad soon;

2. The company sent abroad to work;

3. Invited by overseas companies to participate in business meetings, studies or exhibitions;

4. Go abroad for exchange and study;

5. Take CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Analyst) and other exams that need to fill in the passport number;

6. Passport is cancelled or destroyed by the customs;

7. Passport renewal and lost replacement;

Before the outbreak, the materials required to apply for a passport are as follows:

1. Photos that meet the standards of the Guide to Photographing Entry and Exit Documents.

2. Application form for entry and exit documents of China citizens.

3. Resident identity card; During the period of collection, renewal and replacement of resident identity cards, temporary resident identity cards may be submitted.

4. Other materials (depending on the region and the applicant, some supplementary materials may be needed)

During the epidemic, taking international students as an example, the following materials need to be submitted:

In addition, local entry-exit departments also have some special regulations on passport handling, for example, some places need to provide COVID-19 vaccination certificates. Passports need to be handled at the entry-exit department of the public security bureau at or above the county level where the household registration is located. Under normal circumstances, the exit application meets the requirements and the procedures are complete. Ordinary passports shall be approved and issued within 7 working days from the date of accepting the application materials.

In addition, passports can be handled in different places. At present, the Ministry of Public Security has opened 43 cities to handle passports in different places: Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Shenyang, Dalian, Changchun, Harbin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Hefei, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Nanchang, Jinan, Qingdao, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning and Haikou.
