Geographical environment of Rong 'an County

Rong 'an County is shaped like a leg. It is 89 kilometers long from north to south and 44.5 kilometers wide from east to west. Rong 'an County has a total area of 2,905 square kilometers, including 2,863 square kilometers of land, accounting for 98.55% of the total area. The water area is 42 square kilometers, accounting for 1.45%.

The landform of Rong 'an County can be roughly divided into several types, such as steep slopes of middle and low mountains, gentle slopes of low mountains, karst peaks and clusters, and sedimentary plains. Bamboo plants: golden bamboo, purple bamboo, spotted bamboo, arhat bamboo, square bamboo, cool bamboo mat and many other plants. Mainly distributed in Banlan, Yayao, Dajiang, Dapo and other places. Mammals: more than 40 species, including boar, buffalo, goat, antelope, muntjac, fragrant cat, bamboo rat, weasel, wild dog, roe deer, fragrant beaver, bear, jackal, leopard and elephant. 1970, the Sancha production team of Papaya Brigade of Pumice Commune once hunted a yellow-spotted tiger (South China Tiger), and since then, tigers have rarely been found in the county. The above-mentioned wild animals are mainly distributed in deep mountains and old forests.

Birds: There are more than 40 kinds of starlings, herons, magpies, larks, sparrows, harriers and thrushes. Distributed in all parts of Rong 'an County.

Amphibians and reptiles: taro snake, southern snake, water snake, grass snake, Agkistrodon halys and more than 20 species. Distributed in Rong 'an.
