The founder "Dr. WONG Chak Sham" was an English major college in the early days. Later, due to a large number of new immigrants, the first new method college was established on Hong Kong Island.

In the early 1950s, a large number of mainland immigrants flooded into Hong Kong, including many school-age children. Xinfa English Specialized School, the predecessor of New Method College, was established at Electric Road 1949 in North Point to provide learning opportunities for those who were in urgent need of learning English at that time.
