There are many ancient towns around Chengdu, such as Huanglongxi, Jiezi and Pingle. They are all famous and lively, but one of them is relatively low-key and seems to be ignored. Its name is Wufengxi Ancient Town.

Wufengxi Ancient Town, located in Jintang County, Chengdu, on the bank of Tuojiang River in the middle of Longquan Mountain Range, is a beautiful place to hear the name Wufeng. Are there five phoenixes in the legend? Actually, no, that's because the mountain where the ancient town is located is extremely tortuous, and the peaks all come out all the way. From a distance, it looks like a phoenix soaring into the sky, with a peak of five feet, hence the name. There are indeed five Phoenix Streets in Wufengxi Ancient Town today, namely Jin Feng, Qingfeng, Yufeng, Baifeng and Xiaofeng.

Wufengxi is a national 4A scenic spot, but the conscience is that it is free to visit like other ancient towns in Sichuan. However, because the ancient town is not very famous, not many people come here to visit. The ancient town is very close to Chengdu, only about 30 kilometers. Because it is surrounded by mountains, it has become the only ancient mountain town in Chengdu 10.

The water of Tuojiang River passes through this town. It has been beautiful since ancient times. "Wufengxi is a sail, and Chengdu must be filled with half salt; Wufengxi was an important dock and commercial place in Chengdu in ancient times. Most of the people here come from Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei and Shaanxi. Together with the aborigines, they have created different cultural colors. In the town, you can also see Guan Sheng Palace, Nanhua Palace and other temples, as well as the ancestral temples of Christ, the Six Ancestors of Nanhua, Guandi, Vulcan, the God of Wealth and the Lord of Town Water.

Wufengxi was once a prosperous time. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, it was an important wharf in the upper reaches of Tuojiang River, with as many as four ferries. At its peak, hundreds of ships transported food and handicrafts from western Sichuan to Chongqing and other places, and then transported salt, fruits and foreign goods to these places. Later, it was set as a town in the Qing Dynasty. This bustling place finally shed its former prosperity and returned to the calm and leisure of Shan Ye.

Walking on the streets of Wufengxi ancient town, there are not many pedestrians, which is especially suitable for people who like quiet. It also has business, but it is not outstanding. The streets are paved with bluestone slabs. You can see quaint old houses, ancient docks, ancient trees, ancient bridges, plank roads, street buildings, gates, covered bridges and so on. The ancient town is everywhere, and every corner is a scene, whether standing on the balcony of the inn or on the street.

There is a church in the ancient town. Walking here, there is a feeling of combining Chinese and western, surrounded by antique buildings and lush trees.

Not far away, there is a small waterfall. It's not big, but people like it very much. Listening to the flowing water, the green plants next to it make it more beautiful. In summer, people like to play here, especially children.

Wufengxi ancient town is a rare mountain city around Chengdu, with houses built on the mountain and scattered. Walking through the stone steps step by step can make people go to an unexpected place.

At first glance, the houses in the ancient town can make people return to that slow era. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were two-story buildings with people living above and small shops below.
