In the south, actively promote the construction of the Qilian Mountains national nature reserve and ecological compensation experimental area, strengthen the protection of glaciers, forests, grasslands, and wetlands, and implement the return of farmland to forests, return of grazing land to grassland, artificial afforestation, and mountain closure for afforestation (grassland cultivation). ) and other ecological restoration and protection projects, explore and apply ecological compensation mechanisms, gradually transform farmers and herdsmen in the core areas of nature reserves into ecological management personnel, develop ecological tourism, accelerate the transfer of rural labor in buffer zones, and minimize man-made damage , improve water conservation capabilities.

In the north, accelerate the implementation of the "Three North" protective forest, desert prevention and control and other projects, build a "Green Great Wall" in the northern desert area, block the southward invasion of wind and sand, and protect the safety of oases.

The central oasis, the Heihe River, the second largest inland river in my country, runs across the entire territory, giving birth to the Zhangye Oasis, the largest oasis belt in the Hexi Corridor. This is a natural ecological barrier that curbs the southward invasion of the Badain Jaran Desert and protects the Qilian Mountain water conservation area. It is the lifeline of the ancient Silk Road. It is the gathering area for Zhangye's economic and social development, and it is also the most ecologically sensitive and fragile area. First of all, we applied to establish the Zhangye Heihe Wetland National Nature Reserve, and included the entire 300-kilometer-long central Heihe River Basin into the reserve, making it a national strategic ecological public welfare project. In the south of the old city, a 20-square-kilometer national-level oasis modern agricultural experimental demonstration park has been built. Close to the Oasis Modern Agriculture Experimental Demonstration Park, the original 20 square kilometers of desert dunes are being developed into a national desert geological park closest to the city. (2) Build a modern agricultural market focusing on the production of green agricultural products. Water is the first element for the economic and social development of Zhangye Oasis. Agricultural irrigation water and ecological water are a natural contradiction in the Gobi desert. Therefore, seeking a balance between agricultural production and ecological construction has become a major scientific and realistic issue that must be faced. In this way, objective requirements must be to develop water-saving, efficient and green modern agriculture, change the way water is used, return the saved water to nature and ecology, unify agricultural development and ecological protection, and integrate Zhangye’s local requirements with the national ecological construction Safety barrier needs to be unified. In accordance with the requirements of "more lighting, less water, saving land, and high efficiency", combined with the construction of the Heihe Wetland National Nature Reserve, we will vigorously develop seed production with the main characteristics of water saving, ecology, and high efficiency. , beef cattle, wine grapes, potatoes, tomatoes and other characteristic and advantageous industries, driven by the national strategy, Zhangye will accelerate its progress towards becoming a strong agricultural city. In cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the "Zhangye Oasis Modern Agriculture Experimental Demonstration Park" was first built. It has become the first batch of "National Modern Agriculture Demonstration Zone" in the country and the only "National Modern Agriculture Demonstration Zone" in Gansu.

Combining the construction of modern agricultural experimental demonstration zones with rural labor skills training, the skills training project for 300,000 rural laborers has been implemented for three consecutive years.
