Please give me a brief introduction of Jiayuguan.

Jiayuguan:

Located at the western end of Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province, 6 kilometers southwest of Jiayuguan City, it is located in the middle of the narrowest valley in Jiayuguan, on the highest Jiayu Mountain. The city walls on the two wings of Chengguan pass through the desert Gobi, 8 kilometers to the north and 7 kilometers to the south, connecting with the first pier in the world. Mainly at the western end of the Great Wall in Wan Li in the Ming Dynasty, it has been the first pass in Hexi since ancient times.

Jiayuguan City was built in the fifth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1372). It took 168 years from the initial construction to the completion of a complete gateway (1372- 1539). It is the most dangerous pass among the nine towns along the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty, and it has been well preserved so far. In March, 196 1 was listed as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council. Because of the dangerous terrain and magnificent architecture, it is known as "the world's majestic customs" and "Lianying".

Jiayuguan City consists of three lines of defense: inner city, outer city and moat, which overlap each other and are heavily guarded. Now Guancheng is dominated by the inner city, with a circumference of 640 meters, an area of 25,000 square meters and a height of 10.7 meters. There is a legend in Jiayuguan that praises ancient craftsmen. It is said that when Jiayuguan was built in the Ming Dynasty, the official in charge gave the engineering director a difficult problem and asked him to accurately budget the materials. With the help of craftsmen, the project supervisor made an accurate calculation. As a result, when the project was completed, all the bricks and stones were used up, leaving only one city brick, which was called the "last brick". At present, this brick is still placed on the eaves of Huijimen (West Wengcheng Gate), and tourists all want to see this "last brick", which makes people admire the wisdom of ancient craftsmen.

Since Jiayuguan was built, there have been wars. During the Zheng De period of Ming Dynasty, 15 15- 1522, the number of Turpan soldiers invaded Hexi. Jiayuguan was only an isolated city at that time, so that Manchu soldiers broke through the city and repeatedly plundered the cattle and sheep of nearby people. It was not until 1539 that Jiayuguan was completed as a complete military defense project. The city was locked in the shade and slept, with open walls and hidden walls, and it really became the first male pass in the world.

Today, the restored Jiayuguan Pass can still see the dangerous frontier momentum of that year. When you climb the building, you can see the Great Wall floating in the vast sand sea like Youlong, intermittent and flickering. Sunny days, or a mirage, or traffic jams, you can have a panoramic view.
