Chui fook Du Dong, where did it start?
Xu Fu, namely Xu Shi, was born in Langya (now Ganyu, Jiangsu) and was a famous alchemist in the Qin Dynasty. He is knowledgeable, familiar with medicine, astronomy, navigation and other knowledge, and sympathetic to the people and ready to help others, so he enjoys a high reputation among the people in coastal areas. Xu Fu is a close disciple of Mr. Guiguzi. Learn to explore the valley, qigong, cultivate immortals, and also know martial arts. When he came out of the mountain, it was the Reese era before and after Qin Shihuang ascended the throne. Later, Qin Shihuang was sent to the sea to collect fairy medicine and never came back. In order to commemorate this kind doctor, the villagers changed the village where he was born to "Xufu Village" and built a "Xufu Temple" in the north of the village. Later, there was a saying that Xu Fu was king and Hirozawa was king in the Japanese plain.
The official history does not record Xu Fu's family background. The genealogical records of Han dynasty and the genealogical data of alchemists imported from Tang and Song dynasties provided historical materials for the study of Xu Fu's family history.
Xu Fu's deeds were first seen in Biography of Qin Shihuang and Biography of Hengshan in Historical Records (called "Xu" in Biography of Qin Shihuang and "Xu Fu" in Biography of Hengshan in Huainan). According to Historical Records and Biography of Qin Shihuang, Qin Shihuang hoped to live forever. In the 28th year of Qin Shihuang (2 19 BC), Xu wrote: There are three fairy mountains in the sea, Penglai, Abbot and Yingzhou, where immortals live. So Qin Shihuang sent Xu Shiling to lead thousands of boys and girls, as well as three years of food, clothing, shoes, socks, medicines and farm tools to seek immortality in the sea, which cost a lot of money. However, Xu led many people to the sea for several years and did not find the holy mountain. In the thirty-seventh year of Qin Shihuang (2 10 BC), Qin Shihuang traveled eastward to Langlang, and Xu asked for more shooters to deal with sharks on the pretext that he was blocked by huge sharks after going out to sea. Qin Shihuang agreed and sent a shooter to shoot a big fish. Chui fook led the sea again.
The History of the Three Kingdoms, Biography of Wu Shu's Sovereignty, History of the Later Han Dynasty and Biography of Dongyi also mentioned Xu Fudong's crossing the river. It is mentioned in the "Three Kingdoms" that Xu Fu went to Zhangzhou and stayed there. According to the Records of the Three Kingdoms, Xuzhou and Yizhou are located in the southeast of China, not far apart. Some people think that Yizhou is Taiwan Province Province, Yizhou is Japan and Japan is the same place. According to the Records of the Three Kingdoms and Biography of Japanese in Shu Wei, "should be in the east of Huiji and Dongye", indicating that Japanese people thought that Japan was in the southeast of China at that time. The Book of the Later Han Dynasty is also recorded in the same way.
The earliest record of Xu Fudong's crossing the sea in Japan was Jade Emperor's Orthodoxy written by Kitazawa, Minister of the Southern Dynasties in 1339. In the 8th century, Japanese classics "Ancient Stories" and "Records of Japan" only mentioned that Qin people migrated to Japan, but there was no record of Xu Fudong crossing the river. Some people think this is because China didn't make it clear that Xu Fudong's destination was Japanese in the 8th century.
The earliest record of Xu Fu's deeds is Historical Records. At that time, Sima Qian, ordered by Taishi in the Western Han Dynasty, was only 70 or 80 years away from Xu Fudong crossing the river. It must be because this incident has a wide influence, so he recorded the grand occasion of seeking immortals at that time in his immortal works: "Qi Xu Fu and others wrote that there are three sacred mountains in the sea where immortals live. Please hurry and beg with boys and girls. So I sent thousands of Xu Fatong men and women to the sea to seek immortality. " Sima Qian said that Xu was a Qi national. So there is a view that Xu Fu's hometown should be Longkou, Shandong.
Many modern scholars have studied Xu Fu's family background. For example, Xu and Xu Yuetang of the Xu clan association in Taiwan Province Province usurped the Xu family tree, and Luo Qixiang of Xuzhou Normal University wrote about Jiangxi.
