Faye Wong's grandfather was Wang Zhaomin, who graduated from the Chinese Department of Peking University and was a member of the Legislative Yuan of the Republic of China. My father is a coal engineer, and my mother Xia is a soprano of the coal mine art troupe. Because of the influence of the Cultural Revolution, she was named Charlene Marilynn Dangelo after her mother before she was 15 years old. 15 later, she changed her father's surname to Faye Wong. She graduated from dongzhimen middle school and was admitted to the Biology Department of Xiamen University, but her father finally decided to immigrate to Hong Kong.
