The problem of college students working in Singapore
The following is my own reference. My own experience.
1 Don't be too happy to get a work permit. Work permits are divided into WP, SP and EP. Among them, WP is the lowest, and you can't enter the Singapore hukou until you die (I'm afraid you don't understand, professionally speaking, getting a permanent resident in Singapore, and the green card is referred to as PR, which is the prerequisite for enjoying welfare and becoming a Singapore citizen). WP has no diploma requirements. It is also the most bitter, tiring and tasteless thing. It is common to work 12 hours a day. The second SP is that Singapore's official (ICA Immigration Bureau) needs China's junior college diploma or above, but in recent years, junior college is not easy to approve. Generally, only two universities in China can get it. The intermediary is good, and three universities can also approve it. SP can apply for PR within 1-5 years. It is the Singapore green card. SP is taxed. Imagine, if you don't pay taxes, why does Singapore give you welfare policies for no reason? Right? Ha ha. After that, you can open an account in uob, DBS Bank and POSB Bank with a minimum deposit of 500 Singapore dollars. You can save it and take it out. The deposit requirement is also the lowest in Singapore. Overseas Chinese Bank of Singapore wants S $ 1000. Not to mention Standard Chartered and HSBC. By the way, don't count on China Bank. Although there are many ATMs, I don't think they serve China people at all. China UnionPay card is a card with UnionPay logo, which is very easy to use in Singapore. I mean, this is an ordinary debit card, not a credit card. The cross-border withdrawal fee of debit card is very low, which is the lowest. Far less than all kinds of remittances. Such as Western Union remittance.
As mentioned above, WP is the lowest, no requirement, basically a waiter, I have no green card all my life. The salary cannot be higher than S $65,438+0,800. Generally, it is about 1 1,000 yuan. For China people. Wp does not have to pay taxes. SP is OK. China has a college degree or above or a bachelor's degree. Generally, both books are quite good. This is taxable. You can do public relations. But it takes a long time to get a green card. Maximum EP. Basically, it is a high-paying job with a salary of more than S $4,000. You can apply for a green card within six months. Tsinghua of Peking University is basically promising, that is, a good university with a ratio of 2 1 1 and a domestic 985 university. But one of my classmates, China Ocean University, also approved it, but the employer didn't give such a high salary. When making false accounts or paying wages, consciously refund one or two thousand yuan to the boss. Haha, people also approved it in order to approve the green card earlier. This form is very common.
3 Singapore HDB is HDB. All over Singapore, there is no fixed area. Near every subway station. Looking for a house depends on the subway station. Generally, Singapore is divided into houses and apartments. Generally speaking, domestic agents introduced that they lived in a building block. We students find our own apartment, but the apartment is not very expensive. It is also 250-300 Singapore dollars per person for us to share a room. Finding an apartment by yourself is about S $250, and many people live in it. It's easy to distinguish this. No swimming pool, no security, no monitoring, no room card. It is open and people can come in and out freely. The apartment we live in has swimming pool security, and we have to swipe our cards when entering and leaving the gate, and so does the elevator. When you come, you will live in an apartment for a while, and then you will usually find an apartment. CBD is located in Kela Wharf, which is a statue of lions spraying water. In and out are all Singapore gold collars, and the wages are basically more than S $5,000. The average salary is also S $7,500. China people who work there and rely on intermediaries dare not even think about it. The basic agents are all dead and can't be introduced there unless they go there to distribute leaflets or free newspapers. Haha, or unless I graduated from National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University.
There are only apartments and swimming pools on the playground. Very clean. Change water 24 hours a day. It's free. Good apartments also have basketball courts and tennis courts. Go there, unless you are very demanding, and generally exercise. There are many kinds of fitness equipment around the apartment. Unless you want to be professional.
5 toothpaste in Singapore is expensive. Super expensive. It is recommended that you bring toothpaste for one year when you come. Take it with you. Facial cleanser is cheap, and big brands such as Ponzi Bio-Software and L 'Oreal Adidas are all around S $ 4-7. Ponzi 2.5 yuan, Nivea 3 yuan. Imagine that you eat 4 Singapore dollars. So facial cleanser is not eye-catching at all. Maybe you will multiply it by 5 at first. It becomes RMB. But after a long time, cosmetics are really cheap, only toothpaste. The food is also cheap, and the fruit is also returned. Bring less cosmetics. It's too heavy to be feasible. You are flying, not by train. Being overweight is troublesome. Singapore's aesthetics are disgusting. Clothes are ugly, only expensive and beautiful. I suggest you go to Shenzhen East Gate to wholesale clothes. You'd better buy fake brand names. Singapore is true. If you wear kappa Nike puma, people will envy you to death. Ha ha. So, take more clothes. Eat less cosmetics. Bring more toothpaste. Dude, buy a schoolbag. Women buy more denim shorts. Fashion trends. Men, old and young, like to carry schoolbags. It is common to wear a suit and tie and carry a bag through the business circle. Women basically don't wear long jeans, they are all short. This is a characteristic of Singapore.
Six books are extremely expensive. An English grammar book costs 30 yuan RMB in China and S $30 here. Don't expect to buy books here. Because their copyright is subject to copyright tax. I bought a grammar book in China, a back of 35 RMB, and I sell 32 Singapore dollars here. Helpless. No, I'm helpless. But the dictionary is more than 10. It's very cheap, just like a big Chinese dictionary, an English dictionary is very cheap.
You work normally for 7 working days, wp. SP usually works for 6 days. Generally, there is 1 day rest in a week, and you can rest. But there will be a salary increase on Saturday and Sunday. This rule is very clear. The laws in Singapore are very good, and there are overtime pay in the evening. Even the lowest WP.
Don't bring cigarettes, it's quite serious. Because Singapore is a heavy smoker. As for pirated CDs, that's nothing. Those who don't have a laptop must get an XP pirated CD or something. I received six shipments, no problem. . . Don't worry.
Singapore boycotts visa thieves from Northeast women and Fujian people. I hope you are not from those two places. Haha, northeast women are flooding in the red light district (bud cage) of Singapore. And the bad reputation of Fujian people. You always need an interview. A female classmate of mine in Northeast China, who is too beautiful, asked for a student visa interview. Her fluent English also passed smoothly. One is that she can't get an English degree, and the other is that she can't get English.
