Nanlongkou Jingling Temple

Nanlongkou Jingling Temple is a temple hanging on a cliff. There is no way to verify the time when the temple was built. It was destroyed in the mid-20th century. It was restored in 1998. So far, the main building of the temple has been completed. It is about 70 meters high and divided into four floors, including Tongtian Gate, Baoen Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, and Lingxiao Palace. It has beautiful appearance, bright colors, glazed tiles, gold-plated squares, and pavilions stretching straight into the sky, making it magnificent. There are more than 100 statues of Tathagata Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Maitreya Buddha, Jade Emperor and other gods and Buddhas in the temple, with exquisite workmanship and lifelike shapes. It is the most perfectly restored temple in Zheng'an County.

Everything in the world, trees must have roots, water must have a source, this is the principle of nature, and the same is true for temples. Nanlongkou Jingling Temple is located in the northern Guizhou Plateau, in the west of Zheng'an County, next to the S303 Provincial Road, about 1 km away from the People's Government of Miaotang Town, with the black cliffs bordering Miaotang and Xiaoya towns, and the tributary of the source of Furong River. It is due east of the intersection of Xiaohegou, Hemagou and Shuibeihe. The river flows through the cliffs here. There is a cave on the mountainside. The entrance of the cave faces south and is shaped like a dragon's mouth, so it is called "South Longkou".

Folks say that this cave is the head of the dragon, and the Liyanan Snake Cave is the tail. Hundreds of miles deep, there are all kinds of fairyland and wonders. To whom does the panoramic view belong? It is a pity that all the inscriptions and tablets were destroyed, and there is no evidence to prove it, and it has become an eternal mystery. According to folklore, in the late Ming Dynasty, a senior member of the Zhang family passed away in Nanchuan and was buried in Mul'ergang, a board house in Zheng'an. At this point in the trip - Nanlongkou, there was a heavy downpour, and the flood peaks of the Three Rivers blocked the road, so the group was forced to stay in a cave for the night. The man fell asleep, but unexpectedly, ants covered half of the coffin with mud overnight. The next day, after the rain, the sky cleared, the river opened to the road, and the coffin went on the journey again. After hearing this, a man named Zhao thought this place was very good, so he asked a god to place it in the cave. From then on, it became a temple and named "Sutra" "Lingshan". The common people passed on the gods to each other, and the harvests were abundant every year, which made it famous far and wide. Faithful men and women from all over the country came here one after another for sightseeing, worshiping the Buddha in the mountains, and the incense was endless. Immediately, a large-scale construction work was carried out, and a three-story building with tiles and wood inside and outside the cave was built. There were more than a hundred wood carvings of gods. After the construction was completed, it was named: "Jingling Temple".
