Work visa application method:

There are three application methods: application outside Canada, application within Canada, Apply when logged in to Canada.

Submission outside Canada:

Submission within Canada:

1. Working in Canada during the study period

As an international student, you can work more than 20 hours a week during the study period (on or off campus) without a work permit. As long as you meet the following criteria:

1. Have a valid study permit

2. Be a full-time student

3. Study in a designated An institution of learning, a college or a secondary vocational school in Quebec.

4. Study in an academic, vocational or professional training program for at least six months and obtain a degree, certificate or diploma.

5. Have a valid Social Security Number (SIN)

2. Working as a cooperative program or corporate intern

If you study academic, vocational or professional training courses at a designated learning institution, you will need a work permit and a study permit. Institutions of learning involve work experiences such as co-op programs or internships. To apply for this work permit, you need to prove that your work experience is essential to the completion of your program (this proof can be in the form of a letter from your university or a course schedule). Work experience cannot occupy more than 50% of the entire study plan. If you are studying English or French as a second language (ESL/FSL) or taking general interest or preparatory courses, you will not be eligible to apply for a cooperative work permit.

3. Work in Canada after graduation

Your Canadian study permit will expire 90 days after graduation, so if you want to stay and seek a job in Canada after graduation, You need to apply for a work permit under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP)

Other eligibility requirements for PGWPP are:

4. Graduated from a public or private college or university.
