Dominica extends visa-free stay days for foreigners?

On May 20th, the Dominican Ministry of Tourism announced that the visa-free stay of foreign citizens in the country would be extended from 30 days to 60 days.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that foreign tourists, businessmen, athletes and actors have the right to stay without a visa. In addition, foreigners have the opportunity to extend their stay on this basis. To this end, they need to submit a pre-visa to the Dominican Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Dominican consulate in their country, and then apply for a temporary or permanent residence permit at the immigration office.

The Dominican government has taken these measures to increase the flow of tourists, and the country plans to receive 10 million foreign tourists every year by 2022.

Dominica is located in the eastern part of Hispaniola Island in the Caribbean Sea, bordering Haiti in the west, the Caribbean Sea in the south, the Atlantic Ocean in the north and Puerto Rico across the mona passage in the east, with a total area of 48,442 square kilometers.
