How can parents help their children prepare for IELTS?

With the wave of going abroad again, TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, GMART and other exams have become obstacles for children who have dreams of going abroad, because these exams all have a common feature: high cost and low pass rate, and it is really not easy to get high marks in these exams. Some people are used to comparing them with the college entrance examination. Indeed, going abroad is very similar to the college entrance examination, because both can determine your life. But compared with the college entrance examination, I think these overseas exams are relatively easy, because there are many exams a year, and you can take many exams according to your own plan.

The exam is so difficult that parents who are children must be very worried about their children. Just like on the eve of the college entrance examination, parents are also worried and anxious about the papers, but there is nothing they can do to look at their children. Let me talk about what my parents did for me when I was preparing for the exam. Although my grades are not the highest, I still thank them for their efforts.

No matter what the result is, don't frown.

I want to make it clear here that I am not a butcher. Although I have passed CET-4 and CET-6, I still passed with more than 450 points. My IELTS score is 6 and my English level is average, so I didn't get as high a score as 7 or 8 as other candidates who tried IELTS for the first time, although I wanted to. I took IELTS four times, and the scores were 5, 5.5, 5 and 6 respectively. On the third test, the score dropped by 0.5 points. I think all the roast ducks who are still slaughtering ducks can understand my feelings. It was a feeling of falling from the top of the mountain. Suddenly I feel that everything is meaningless. The time, experience and money spent before are meaningless, and the hard-earned money of parents is gone. But when I was discouraged, my parents didn't lose confidence in me. My mother still told me that I was her hope. I haven't accomplished nothing, but I still have a chance. They don't look sad like me. On the contrary, they always amuse me and give me little surprises these days. I don't want to talk about IELTS, so they just want to encourage me and support me. Soon my mood was brought up by them, and I was no longer depressed and became strong.

Second, have a good mood every day

I believe that all the students preparing for the exam now have the same mentality: fidgety. Me too. I was tired of watching everything at that time. I want to close the book when I pick it up, but I feel embarrassed when I close it, so I open it again and again. Not only that, we get angry without warning, cry for no reason, lose appetite and lose sleep. At that time, we were like a seriously ill patient who was about to die. In fact, the most important thing at this time is the understanding of parents. If you find your child very upset, you can let him have a rest. I don't think a day or two of relaxation will have much impact on the whole preparation. Don't always keep children in a state of tension, which will affect their readiness.

Smile in the morning, take the initiative to ask the children out for a walk when the weather is good, talk with them at night and so on. Let him have a good mood all day so that he can get twice the result with half the effort.

Third, a correct understanding of the examination abroad

I think all children who want to go abroad for further study should behave well in school, and some even learn to be tyrants from an early age. What's more, parents should pay more attention to correctly understanding foreign exams. Examinations abroad are like a wooden bridge leading to dreams. Although there is no prescribed pass rate, it cannot be denied that foreign examinations are written by foreign education departments, which makes China children who have received nine-year compulsory education unprepared. Some people say that CET-4 and CET-6 are also English proficiency tests, which are not the same, but I want to tell them that CET-4 and CET-6 are also questions given by China people, and there are essential differences in the methods of doing and examining questions.

I remember when I was preparing for the exam, my mother often told me an example. One of the two books in Top Gun wants to go abroad. After taking IELTS for three or four years, she finally succeeded in going abroad. Later, she wanted to emigrate. It is difficult for her to take the 7 IELTS test at least four times in five or six years. In fact, what I want to tell parents here is not to belittle the examination abroad. This is much more difficult than you think. Even if your child is a bully, you can't always ask him to be a bully in all exams. The boy's courage to try shows that he is brave. Even if he fails the first time, please don't blame him, because the exam itself is very difficult.

Fourth, support the child's decision.

This article has been fully reflected in my life. At that time, I was heartbroken about whether to report for the exam or not, but my parents' treatment was to follow me and pay for it themselves. At this time, I will study hard when I sign up for class, because it is my own decision, and I still have no face when I sign up for class. I will study hard if I don't report to class, because it's my own decision. You can do well in the exam without applying for a remedial class, which is very face-saving. In fact, we are very simple, our parents just let us do it, and we have ways to encourage ourselves. In studying abroad, children's opinions are the first, because after going abroad, they are also under various pressures of life and study. Respecting their opinions can make them live better after going abroad.

Based on my own experience, I give you the above four suggestions. I hope that children and parents can communicate more, and parents can understand the helplessness and bitterness of our times. Finally, I wish everyone a successful duck slaughter as soon as possible and realize their dreams.
