How do you deal with those parents at home who clearly don’t understand the facts but insist on interrupting?
To be honest, most of our parents came from an "ignorant" era. It is normal for them to be uneducated. My parents are not literate and did not finish the third grade of elementary school. When I was very young, I worked in the fields, went out to work, and traveled all over the world. I don’t even know my own name, so I have to write my parents’ signatures myself. They are really ignorant, parents with no knowledge and no culture. They don’t understand famous people from all over the world, they don’t understand linear equations in two variables, they don’t understand the rotation and revolution of the earth, they don’t understand chemical reactions, they don’t understand what academic papers are, and they don’t even understand why there are dialects. Speak Mandarin. Their world is simple and impoverished. This kind of "ignorance" from my parents gave me the biggest feeling of loneliness. I had no one to communicate with, and my parents never understood what I was learning and what its use was. Because it's really useless. What I learned cannot be realized in an equivalent way, which is something that my parents cannot understand. Many of my non-utilitarian hobbies, such as reading, going to the countryside, and learning Japanese, are all strange in the eyes of my parents. They often call me stupid. In fact, reading is not that important, but once I started reading and continued reading, to my ignorant parents, I was labeled as a "nerd", and everything I said, did, and thought changed. Because of the original sin of becoming a "nerd", my parents and I became people in two different worlds. This was the first kind of "ignorance" and the deepest experience of knowing. I read books and could understand Russell's "Language and Logic", but I could never understand my parents' world. My parents didn’t read, couldn’t write their own names, and couldn’t think about complicated things. Their world was simple and impoverished, too simple to understand the complexity of my world.
