The Russian government has revised the immigration registration regulations.

According to the website of RIA Novosti, the Russian government has approved the revision of the immigration registration regulations, and now the staff of the Federal Immigration Service will obtain some documents needed for the registration of foreigners from relevant departments.

Foreign citizens or stateless persons may not provide documents to prove the use of property rights, if some relevant state service departments have such information, these departments include municipal service departments, local self-government organs and subordinate institutions. Foreign citizens only need to fill in the address on the application form.

The immigration officers responsible for registration will collect information from the relevant departments on their own. The time for the latter to prepare and send a reply shall not exceed 5 working days.

According to the new regulations, if a foreign citizen can't produce documents to prove his identity, permanent residence permit or temporary residence permit, the immigration bureau will not accept it.

In addition, foreign citizens need to cancel their registration from their place of residence because of their death. If the person concerned fails to provide a death certificate, the local immigration office should obtain information from the civil registration agency.
